Dayeimbe Adventure III : 7th-9th : Dragontown!
This adventure is one of a series of adventures set in Dayeimbe – they are designed to be part of a campaign, mingled with other adventures of your own choosing.
Location : Farstep (Small town) five days north west of Lusina Tirion.
Quest : Dragontown! Dragon spawn of Toketsu - DMB Dragon has taken over Farstep! Mayor was slain by a Dragon!
Player Hook 1-Report comes in and Lusina Tirion militia want a specialist adventurer team to remove the Dragon threat. 500 gp each to deal with the Dragon. Extra 500 gp each if rescue at least 10 of the townsfolk.
Player Hook 2-Cousin of PC escaped as the Dragon first visited, begs the PCs to help. Does not have cash reward, but if required can hand over owners rights to Silver mine in the hills (haunted).
Roll for encounters Farstep area : each Morning, Afternoon, Evening and Early Morning.
• Feel free to give +1 or +2 to the roll if they are using their brains to follow the clues.
• After two encounters, throw in the Eclipse, see below.
Encounters : D12; 1-2=Barbarians (D8 1-4=Greytusk Orks 2D10, 5-8=Frosthorn Humans 2D10), 3-4=Bison (5D20), 5=Villagers (D8 hiding from Dragon), 6=Racoons (use Giant Rat stats 5D20), 7-8=Giant Snakes (3), 9-10=Hydra (1), 11-12=Dragon-within D10*D100 feet.
Monsters : Monster Manual : Barbarians=Scout pg 349, Giant Snake=Constrictor snake pg 320, Hydra=pg 190, Orcs=Pg 246, Raccoons (Gi Rats)=Pg 327.
Social Aids/Goals :
• Dragons color is Azure - vulnerable to Fire, Resistant to Cold – Charisma DC 12
• Dragon has not talked to people a lot, can be taunted/charmed/lied to, not world wise. Charisma DC 16
Nearby allies : Monastic order-Order of the Unbound Soul, may assist vs dragon.
Farstep - Dragonroost
Bad guys : Dragon-Ebmieyad (Young Black Dragon stats) and two Hydra (loyal to Dragon) one roving and one stays in town.
Dragon has trashed four houses, and put some holes in the Mayors house when it attacked and slew the Mayor. The Dragon is slightly mad.
The Dragon may chant ‘I am water! I am the rainbow and you can not harm me!’
The Dragon may chant ‘you may take my shinies, but you’ll never take, our mushrooms’
Perception Aids/Goals :
• Dragon spent alot of time underground, Disadv to dex/wis rolls in sunlight. Wisdom DC 14
• Never goes far from mayors house - (cellar beneath with new loot stash) Wisdom DC 16
Difficulty : to Upgrade : Increase the age from Young to Adult if the PCs are tough.
• to Downgrade : Dragon is not used to pain, flees at 1/2 Hit Points.
If anyone asks about the Mayor, he threw some spells at the Dragon but was torn to pieces. Good riddance, he was a thief and weirdo.
• Why did the Dragon attack? – sensed bad water (Gibbering Mouther), thought the Mayor was doing bad things, not sure.
• Will the Dragon leave? No it likes it here. Unless someone offers to work for it for 5 years, it would like an agent who understands people.
Neutral party : In a Cellar room with a deep pit is a Gibbering Mouther (Wis DC10 flee Radiant/Necrotic)
• Cellar shows Mayor was in secret member of Coven of Twelve, has books of necromancy, demon summoning, portal to Shadowfell. Notes show Coven of Twelve - Cult trying to gain influence in the area with bribes, magical bullying, blackmail.
Unrelated Events : Eclipse, shadows and wraiths seep out of caves/cracks in the ground for 10 minutes. Go for highest Hit points character. Can be kited vs Hydra or Dragon.
Releated Tie Ins : Return to Farstep town, If successful they are awarded old manor in town-needs repair, 20 rooms (12 ground level, 8 upstairs).
Notes ; River from hills to the west goes through town towards the great lakes to the north.
LOOT : from Mayors Cellar-Bedroom.

Future Link : Mayors daughter, friendly with pcs, knows nothing of the Coven of Twelve, but she is the werewolf that bit the first bad guy in Adventure I, and will offer a high strength or charisma pc the 'GIFT' of Lycanthropy and join her as partner in all ways.
Future Link : If the dragon flees, it may come back later, tactics : river flooding & water elemental allies.
Future Link : perhaps the Coven of Twelve already had more agents and minions on the way.
