Back to my favorite well of inspiration we go!! Good ol' DM-Nastics #23: Pantheon Builder but this time we are a little bit darker to tie back to the episode with Erin Evans about the Underworld. For this one, Tony and I were kicking around some thoughts about who controls death, and the dead in the world of Dayeimbe. It is highly unlikely that it could be one deity alone, so instead it must be several, right? The next idea was to have the different alignments be the guide to those deities. So taking the prompt from 1) Name 2) Alignment(Pick ONE not yet chosen) 3) Power level (superior, greater, intermediate, lesser, demi-) 4) Domains 5) Details For part 5) Details, add whatever you feel is important to flesh out the god. Consider this god's relationship with other gods in this group that have already been posted. Where do they fit in? Are they allied or hostile with any of the other gods? What is their symbol? What is their origin? You can check out DM-Nastics #44 for more inspiration on ideas to flesh out the god. Let do this!

1) Name Pix (holy symbol: a half empty bottle with a laughing face logo)
2) Alignment(Pick ONE not yet chosen) Chaotic Good
3) Power level Lesser
4) Domains Bad ideas, Mischief, Mockery, Pranks, Embarrassing Deaths
5) Details Pix is easily bored by 'generic reaping' so she leaves all that tedious work to the other gods. This often means she reaps less than all the other gods, but what she lacks in quantity she makes up for in quality.
She basically invented Rube Goldberg deadly accidents and Dayeimbe's version of the Darwin Awards.
Remember the proud Tyrant who literally slipped on a banana peel and died. Probably Pix.
The dad that slipped on his sons marbles, lands on a sled, glides into the road, and then gets trampled by a horse drawn carriage? Definitely Pix's work.
Or that guy who thought it was a great idea to jump on the dire bulls back and say 'giddy up.' Where do you think that great idea came from?
Pix always tries to minimize grief, and these deaths not only reduce the grieving process but can actually bring joy to thousands who share the silly stories.
So the next time someone says 'hold my beer and watch this.' Pay attention, because Pix may be at work there and her craft is never boring.

1) Name Leyorin (Holy Symbol is a cracked shield)
2) Alignment(Pick ONE not yet chosen) Lawful Good
3) Power level (superior, greater, intermediate, lesser, demi-) Greater
4) Domains Battle, Honor, Duty, Sacrifice, Death
5) Details Leyorin is the Goddess of Honorable Deaths. She watches over those who die heroically in battle or sacrifice themselves to save others. If a person dies with honor, Leyorin is said to greet them at the moment of their death, comforting them as their last breath leaves their body.
As a greater power level, Leyorin sits among the leaders of the pantheon, but is generally away when she knows that there are those who are about to perish honorably.
She took up this position because she saw something special in the mortal beings of Dayeimbe. The other gods continually told her to leave death to those who crave seeing it, but Leyorin knew how most of those gods would have handled the souls of the good hearted people of the world, so she saw it fit to guide them herself.
There are some who believe that just by dying in battle, they will be visited by Leyorin and meet a comfortable death, but only Leyorin decides what is truly honorable. An orc slaying hundreds of farmers and then being taken down in combat against a knight will probably be passed up by her, but when that knight is killed shortly afterwards, she will be by his side for he fought for an honorable cause. If a person leads a truly honorable life and dies of old age, she will also be there to greet them.
(Edited to add additional relationship details) Leyorin and Pix: She generally looks down on Pix's ploys to gather souls, but she knows that hapless people need to be collected as well, lest they be lost in the world. Though, sometimes she clashes with Pix when an honorable person bumbles their way to their demise. Because of this, Pix becomes irritated whenever Leyorin comes to take the soul instead. She feels treated like a child by Leyorin in these times and holds a grudge against her in secret. Leyorin, on the other hand, sees Pix's moods as just part of her character, and is oblivious to any ill feelings towards herself.
Leyorin and Exinani: Leyorin has always been distrustful of Exinani simply because she knows that Exinani is capable of reaping the souls of the gods themselves, but chooses not to because of their unbending rule. Whenever Exinani comes into the presence of the other gods, Exinani gives Leyorin a very uneasy feeling, which probably gives clues to her insecurities as a Goddess of Death. She knows that she wasn't created to be a reaper of honorable souls, but rather that she volunteered for the duty in order to ensure that the souls were well taken care of. Of all the Deities of Death, Leyorin feels the least like she belongs, but especially so when comparing herself to Exinani.
Leyorin and the Death Lord: Leyorin and the Death Lord have a good report between one another and will often be together for the honorable, older souls that are to die alone in their homes. The Death Lord will challenge the mortal to his game of chess while Leyorin sits and watches, helping to comfort the mortal before their game ends with her very presence. She will then work with the Death Lord to bring that soul to a good afterlife.
Leyorin and Xavren: Leyorin has a soft spot in her heart for Xavren for she was on very good terms with his father, Zarth. Before Zarth passed, Leyorin was a big part of Xavren's life, seeing him turn into a great man and didn't have any reservations with his being born of a mortal mother. Once Zarth was killed, Xavren was consumed by rage which transformed him into his current appearance and disposition. There was no comforting him, so Leyorin stepped back when she saw Nom step in to befriend him after his dare was so eloquently executed. Now, she watches over him from afar, occasionally turning to look at him while she is on the battlefield, saving the honorable souls as they die before the battle ends and Xavren takes over. Seeing Xavren retain a sense of honor, allowing the battles to play out without interference, warms Leyorin's heart, knowing that some part of her guidance had rubbed off on Xavren and remains even through his rage, tempered as it may be.
Leyorin and Alyssa: Some would say that there is honor among thieves, but not Leyorin. One that takes that of another for their own gain have always been seen as dishonorable in her eyes. Though, few have earned redemption, most thieves and merchants, who prize money above all else, are given to Alyssa when they pass. Because of this, Leyorin never respected Alyssa, but she never had voiced this before. She tries to keep her cool around her, but knows it probably comes off as a cold demeanor.
Leyorin and Yit: For one reason or another, sometimes an honorable soul is not able to be retrieved right away, maybe due to a curse or some sort of magic or just an unwillingness to go due to unfinished business. This is where Yit steps in. Whenever one of these souls are trapped and are finally ready to move on, Leyorin will meet with Yit in order to collect the lost soul. In these moments there is little to discuss between the two, but Leyorin feels a sense of adoration toward Yit because she sees what he does as a huge show of compassion for these souls. Also, knowing that he takes good care of them until they are ready to move on, she always looks forward to those meetings to see him once more since he is often too busy on the mortal plane to join the rest of the gods in their home plane.
Leyorin and Dormi: Leyorin sees Dormi as one of Nom's greatest bright spots in the world. A child filled with such a degree of honor that has been hard to find a match for. Unfortunately, Leyorin feels that Dormi is a little careless in her endeavor to defeat the bearded man, and has watched over her in the past, especially when she was just learning her abilities, but now watches with pride whenever Dormi displays her honor for everyone to see and strive to become. Leyorin has interacted with Dormi, from time to time, as different people throughout the years. An old woman at a tavern during a particularly grueling period in her life, a young maiden in distress that Dormi saved and talked to on the way to the nearest safe town, or even a friendly dog, once, that helped keep her warm by a fire while she was lost and alone for a period of time and just needed someone to talk to. She is unsure if Dormi had ever suspected her of doing this, but she still will do it, from time to time, especially when Dormi is in need of someone to talk to or in need of advice which is much more rare nowadays.

1) Name
Exinani (Symbol: A Mushroom growing on a fanged skull against a black background)
2) Alignment(Pick ONE not yet chosen)
True Neutral
3) Power level (superior, greater, intermediate, lesser, demi-)
Superior
4) Domains
Decay, Death, Darkness, Nature, Balance
5) Details Exinani knows only 1 sin...Immortality. Only the Gods are free of this sin, but even they are subject to punishment if they lose their divine grace and fall from the heavens. Clerics, Druids and warlocks are common followers of Exinani. Paladin's less so, but it's not unheard of. Exinani hates Undeath above ALL things. There is nothing more unnatural than the restless dead, and their rest is holy and should be undisturbed. Necromancers are sworn enemies of the followers of Exinani. Common clergy sayings: "All must return to the dirt." "Death finds us all." "Run; but there is no escape." "With my death, I am freed of sin. Thank you" - when defeated in combat.
Edit: ORIGIN - It is not remembered or known which Gods corpses and mortal and planar debris was in the massive pile of detritus that became Exinani. But over several centuries these passed Gods, mortals and planar energy decayed, melding together and became conscious as a new and powerful God of Death, Decay and Balance. The skull of a dead God drifts through the animated mound of detritus as the aspect of Exinani, and is the skull of his Holy symbol as well.

1. The Lord of Death, the Death Lord (holy symbol: the knight chess piece)
2. 50% Lawful Neutral, 40% Chaotic Evil, 10% Lawful Good
3. Superior or Greater, depends on what the other gods, but at least Greater
4. Death, Knowledge, Trickery (taken from the D&D 5e domains)
5. The Lord of Death (or Death Lord as he is known more commonly as), is only seen by the ones who are about to die - he haunts all kingdoms and castles and houses and tries to find someone that he can kill. The Death Lord then challenges the victim to a battle of Chess, where-if the victim loses, then the victim dies, if the Death Lord wins, then the Death Lord dies. And then Death dies itself. Though no one can ever beat the Death Lord at a game of Chess. For he is intelligent beyond even most gods' minds. The Death Lord tries to get a victim before Pix does, and goes to lengths to get the victim. The victim of the Death Lord needs to have lived a long life already and a whole lot of other special rules for the Death Lord to follow, for it is written in the laws of the universe.
The Death Lord has no name, and was unnamed right when he was born, so no one knows the Death Lord's real name.
There are three sects of the Death Lord's followers, and they often fight against each other. There is the priesthood to the Death Lord: Priesthood of Order in Death, which all who are in that priesthood have to be Lawful Good, this sect often practices more of the Death and a little of the Knowledge side of the Death Lord. There's also the priesthood: Priesthood of the Red Tulips, which symbolize death for that priesthood. You can only be Chaotic Evil to enter that priesthood, and they emphasize the Trickery and Death side of the Death Lord. Finally, there is the Priesthood of Just Death, where everyone who enters has to be Lawful Good. This priesthood often emphasizes more of the Knowledge of Death side of the Death Lord. The first priesthood is the most popular of the three, and then they go down in popularity every other one after.
The Death Lord is said to walk around the Material Plane (or the realm of mortals if you don't go by what Dungeons and Dragons uses for planes) only, and never goes to the underworld. He os said to wear a black cloak and a gnarled walking stick in front of him. He is also said to hum creepy music. A rhyme he has been said to sing (in the elvish language) is below:
Uylv sylv, sylv uylv.
Uylv wylv, wylv uylv.
Uylv, T'uylv, L'uylv.
Wylv, T'wylv L'wylv -
Uylv.
The translation to English is:
Death I have, I have death.
Death I am, I am death.
I die, you die, they die.
I am, you are, they are -
Dead.

What is their origin? You can check out DM-Nastics #44 for more inspiration on ideas to flesh out the god. Let do this! - Xavren
- Neutral Evil
- Demigod
- Death, Evil, Fire, Travel
- Portfolio: ghosts, incoporeal undead, horses, newly dead
Son of the dead god Zarth, Xavran is both feared and respected by all. Feared for his horrifying appearance, a skeleton wreathed in flame, and respected for the service that he provides of taking the dead to the afterlife. Many soldiers whisper of seeing him astride his steed, Rankop, while in battle, waiting for the armies to finish so he may take the dead without distraction. More than a psychopomp it was he that created the first horses. Dared by Nom to create something to gift the humans roaming the northern plains, Xavran took a doe and stag from the forest of the southern elves. Stealing a pinch of moon dust, he imbued the dust with his inner fire before sprinkling it upon the two. The magic and power forced the two deer to more than double in size. The hairs on their tails became longer, their builds more robust, and the stag lost his antlers. Satisfied with his work, Xavran bred the two creations so to have enough to give to the humans. Within a month’s time he set the herds loose on the plains, as he did not want to make things too easy for the humans. The first pair however, Xavran kept for himself. Imbuing more of his fire into the stallion and mare, their fur turned black as charcoal while their mane, tail, and hooves burst into flames. The stallion, Rankop, he took as his personal steed, while the mare, Ledranymas, and their children roam the outside of Zarth’s remains. Called nightmares, only the daughters of Rankop and Lendranymas are ever summoned to the Material Plane. Nightstallions, though larger and more powerful, are much too aggressive and temperamental for any would-be summoner to control. ~*~ Slightly modified, but Xavran's the main psychopomp in my setting. Xavran & PixThe deaths caused by Pix are among the few amusements in Xavran's otherwise dull existence. The more humiliating deaths frequently result in Xavran chuckling the entire time he's taking the poor fool to the afterlife. When interacting with Pix herself however, Xavran frequently finds her to be annoying and there is little that they agree upon. While Xavren still delivers her dead to her he tries to spend as little time around Pix as possible. Xavran & LeyorinXavran doesn't know how to act around Leyorin. He sees her as the friendly aunt that spent a good deal of time with him as a child, but doesn't seem to realize that he's not a child anymore. This is despite his less than fleshy appearance. When he sees her on battlefields, picking out her choice souls, he chooses to ignore her, focusing on his duty. Xavran & ExinaniXavran doesn't hate Exinani, but he is wary of the undead god (despite Exinani's claims that it is not undead, what else would you call the aware and moving amalgam of an untold number of corpses). He fears that Exinani seeks to add godflesh to itself, and that his father, Zarth, would be a tempting target. Should Exinani seem to be setting out to add Zarth to itself, Xavran will seek out the other death gods and Nom to deal with the mass of rotting godflesh. His role as psychopomp means that Xavran is on good terms with nearly all gods related to death. Xavran & the Death LordXavran has a good relationship with the Death Lord, though the two are not friends. They view each other as friendly coworkers, though not the kind that you go to the pub to share a drink with after work. On occasion Xavran wonders why the Death Lord refuses to leave the Material, though when Rankop and Lendranymas are feeling amorous and thus far more temperamental than usual (which for nightmares and nightstallions is saying a lot) Xavran'll mutter than maybe the Death Lord is onto something. Xavran & AlyssaMaintaining a respectful working relationship, Xavran and Alyssa nevertheless do not like each other. One of the few allowed into her home city, Xavran respects Alyssa largely for the fact that if she so desired she could erase him from existence while Alyssa respects his professional attitude and the sheer stones he showed during their first meeting. Shortly after erasing knowledge of her city from the minds of all, Alyssa was approached by a flaming skeleton riding on a black horse. Xavran explained to her that his job was to escort the souls of the dead from the Material to the Ethereal, and he couldn't do that with her erasing the location of the city from his mind. If she didn't restore it, he'd follow the call of the dead and find his way in anyway. Xavran & Yit
Despite what many would assume, Xavran and Yit have few interactions with each other. Xavran is drawn to the souls of the dead that are ready to pass over, by definition he has little to do with ghosts or the dead with unfinished business. On the very rare occasions that the two have met, they find respect for the other's professionalism but have little else to talk about. Xavran & Dormi
Xavran thinks that Dormi needs to relax. All she ever talks about is getting vengeance on some dwarf and Nom. The irony of one of the greatest workaholics thinking that someone else needs to relax is not lost on Xavran, nor is it appreciated. Despite their friendship, Xavran has no intention of aiding Nom should Dorni manage to corner the goddess. As far as Xavran is concerned, the matter is none of his business.

1) Name. Alyssa.
Also known as: “The mistress of coin” “The locks love” “The thieves unfaithful” “The dark temptation”.
Holy symbol: Trader/Nobles – A half coin of gold with a shrouded face imprinted upon it Thieves/Traders/Entertainers – A small key the size of a finger nail with her face imprinted on a wide hold.
2) Alignment. Lawful Evil
3) Power level. Greater
4) Domains. Luck, Misdirection, Thievery, Locks, Trade, Wealth, Order.
5) Details. Alyssa is widely known to have been a mortal, possessing a sharp but unappreciated mind, a cold beauty and a wicked sense of humour, we know she was made a priestess of a church for an uncaring god and that she somehow stole his divinity in her early thirties. We know as punishment for offending her all her life she stole the location of her home city from every map and mind in the land -those that left it’s gates would never return home, the former god was cast down upon the world as an old mortal and quickly died a mortal death and we know that she reverted her age from that of a thirty year old woman to that of a mid twenties.
The worship of Alyssa was quickly outlawed in the cities and her blessings were sought by thieves and cut throats alike, however displeased with the disrespect that those in power showed her she plied her trade once more stealing the domains of Trade and Wealth, in an attempt to appease her and to restrain her with some form of control she was offered a part in maintaining the domain of Order also. With this traders and lords alike turned to her and the law was quickly lifted by kings in many lands though she will always show more favour to those who hide in the shadow.
She follows the lawful path because without order and trade there can be no coin to steal, no great treasures to liberate and no locks to unlock, what one person owns will always pass to another one way or another -it is the order of things.
She is often depicted as a slender woman wearing a thick travelling cloak with the hood pulled up, a belt covered in pouches and packs, an alluring figure and glittering stones for eyes -although most places of more simple means depict a hooded and cloaked figure with the outline of a jaw from under the hood.

He assists these ghosts in their interactions on the material plane so that they can find rest. He will gently nudge fate to help find a guardian for a child so that the ghost of its mother might find peace, or he will use his influence to direct the dagger of an assassin into the heart of an adulterer so that the ghost of a spouse might find vengeance. Yit does all of this to ensure that Dayimbe is never overwhelmed by the souls who are not ready to pass on immediately after their deaths, and so that the greater gods of death are never waiting too long for what belongs to them.

1) Name: Dormi
2) Alignment: Chaotic good
3) Power level: Demigod
4) Domains: Honorable death, battle, adventure, destiny
5) Details: Dormi is the daughter of a proud human warrior, Farlow, who had served many honorable years as a guardsman in Lusina Tirion. He had forfeited the life of an adventurer to stay home with his family. Slowly, his wife and sons died off from disease and tragic mishaps, and Farlow’s youth slipped away from him. He lost his family and his potential for knighthood or adventure, and took to the bottle. One day, a beautiful elven woman came to him bearing a promise of glory and fortune, all he need do was have her. This was no elf, however, but Nom. Nom stayed with Farlow and the man was granted a wealth, titles, and glory for 9 months. Nom only revealed herself after the birth of their child, Dormi. It was then she revealed she had orchestrated his family’s demise. Nom could have killed him there, but instead she left, telling him he should be proud to be born to such a purpose, to raise her mortal instrument of death, spreading her favor amongst the gods of the underworld, and her power and domain against all of the gods.
Farlow refused.
Fast forward 18 years, and Dormi has become an extremely formidable warrior. The half elf has lived her life on the run ever since the early days at the orphanage, being hunted by a strange old, bearded man and many agents and bounty hunters of his pockets. However, no matter how many people came after her, they always managed to be found dead. Only one man had nearly killed her, the bearded man, but after he left her with a dagger stuck in her chest she was found and saved by a cleric to Lao Yu who then adopted her as his own. In her years with Si the cleric, she had many years of practice, addressing her inner struggle of losing her parents, being hunted, and a strong desire for the thing she was always escaping: death. Though she found a loved one in Si and happy years, she could never really find peace, but she thought she knew her best option. Dormi enlisted, hardened by her past, and became a legendary soldier. No matter how many people she fought at once, it seemed she couldn’t lose. While those around her marveled, she still struggled with her overwhelming desire to find an honorable death. She eventually left her service when she found a lover, Alistair. Alistair, a cleric man, had been doing research to give Dormi what she truly desired. At that time, they found what they were looking for had been under their nose this whole time, the dagger from so long ago, used by the bearded man, it was the weapon fated to kill her. They prepared themselves, and Dormi convinced Alistair to deliver the final blow, but before he could, he was intercepted by a hideous creature, one she knew was Nom, goddess of death and destiny. Nom took Alistair, but left the dagger. Dormi now had a choice, she could finally find peace.
But how could she? What honor was there in this manner and leaving the one she lived defenseless. She took up the dagger, and began her journey to find the bearded man who tried to end her life so long ago, and a way to confront Nom, and save the love of her life. Only then would she allow herself to die.

1) Name
Fenris AKA The Curse upon the Wood (Symbol: A Dying Willow/A Wolf's Fang Embedded in Tree Bark)
2) Alignment(Pick ONE not yet chosen)
Lawful Evil
3) Power level (superior, greater, intermediate, lesser, demi-)
Lesser
4) Domains
Love, Trickery, Death, Balance
5) Details
Fenris is the god of the death of nature. He oversees the natural ebb and flow of the seasons.
Fenris is a lesser deity under the god Exinani. He was once a druid of Exinani reaching an ascended status after Exinani grew tired of civilization encroaching unimpeded into nature, continually upsetting the balance between the two. Exinani searched for a champion many years before finding a powerful yet troubled druid.
The druid had fallen in love with Drasila, a shieldmaiden who fled into the forest gravely injured during the siege of her village. The raiders pursued the woman but the druid hunted and killed them in the guise of a white dire wolf. The raiders after capturing Drasila's village attempting to venture into the forests multiple times each hunting party would never return, thanks to a large white wolf. The forest was declared cursed. When the raiders attempted to burn down the forest the large white wolf emerged slaughtering the entire village causing any survivors to flee with tales of the cursed wood. However, when the druid returned to his love he found her wounds had taken a turn for the worst. Prior to The Death Lord arriving, the druid was appeared to by Exinani and granted many other forests to his purview informing him Drasila would die; noting that much like people, forests also have a time when they come to an end. But until that time comes he would stand as a bastion of balance between mortals and nature. Each fall would be the druid's sacrifice and renewal of his vow to Exinani to maintain that balance. When Exinani asked the druid's name, he had long since forgotten his given name and responded, "You may call me Fenris, as the Northmen do. The wolf that consumes all."
It's said that one of Fenris's first acts as a god was betraying Exinani, turning his love into a willow tree to conceal her condition from Exinani and The Death Lord. Fenris guards many forests until Exinani decides it is their final time as well. Forests under Fenris's protection are usually marked with a simple wolf fang in a tree near the overgrown path leading into them as a ward for mortals not to enter. It's well known that Fenris has no patience for mortals who enter his forests with little regard for their intent. Therefore, most of the forests overseen by him are avoided outright. However, legend has it if you wander into his forests in the fall, while Fenris is busy making his offering to Exinani, towards the center of the wood you may find a dying willow that's sap can mask a mortal's life essence from The Death Lord.
Common followers of Fenris are druids, paladins, and rangers all typically emboldened by Fenris's fierce sense of balance to the point of vengeance against those that would upset it. However, it isn't unheard for bards to worship him embracing the more romantic and tragic notes of Fenris's tale.
6) Relationships
Leyorin and Fenris: Fenris is avoidant of Leyorin feeling that Drasila lost her chance at an honorable death, but he does continue to mastermind a scheme to one day sacrifice himself for Drasila which he would hope Leyorin may support.
Exinani and Fenris: Fenris is on the surface Exinani dutiful and tireless servant. Agreeing with Exinani on most key points especially when it comes the deaths of most mortals, he is more than willing to act as a hand of vengeance against those that run from death. However, a great moral dilemma exists from him knowing Exinani will eventually know of his betrayal.
The Death Lord and Fenris: Fenris never has and never wants to play a game of chess with The Death Lord but he knows there will be a day when Drasila's enchantment grows weak enough that The Death Lord may find her.
Alyssa and Fenris: Fenris has an uncommon ally in Alyssa who knows of his misdirection and also regards his cold demeanor towards mortals as charming. While worship of her is outlawed in cities many cursed forests have shrines where worshippers can pay homage to Alyssa uninterrupted.

I originally made this for DMN 111 but liked the other one better and thought it would fit in here. I’ve been here so long I can’t even remember my name, I feel as if I have nearly faded away. All I remember from before is what the walls won’t let me forget.
The night the gates fell and the undead poured in.
I was locked in the tower with my sons and a king. We sat in our thrones, Miro and Lu lay crying on my lap while I held them close. When the door burst open the foul wizard stood before his horde. He had the undead fiends drag us into the streets where I was eaten alive.
I remember it because it hurts and the walls of my prison won’t let me forget.
I can’t even remember my name, but I still feel every bite. It’s the only thing I feel now, other than the cold.Long ago Grimoire was death. Back then death was beautiful and merciful, but also inevitable. Betrayed and ritualistically sacrificed by the gods (to themselves), those who did not want to inevitably die; as immortality first entered Dayeimbe, so did undeath. This is what Grimoire became; the cold, pitiless, and hungry god of undeath. 1) name: Grimoire. Symbol (not holy): an apple core. 2) Alignment: Chaotic Evil 3) Power level: Greater 4) Domains: Undeath, undead 5) Details For those whose bodies are consumed by the undead, for those who give up their soul for undeath; their souls are sent to Grimoire. There it is trapped in the original “phylactery”, of which every other phylactery is a shard. Surrounded by painful murals from their life, while the soul is fed upon, until it fades into a shadow. Does each god not fear them? Arming their clerics to turn the undead. They seek to consume the followers of the gods, taking power back. Hostile to all who have a shred of immortality in them and hungry for all who don’t. Grimoire has been confined for a time, but it is easy for those who seek power to find them. Were Grimoire’s undeath to end, so would all undeath ( and immortality) end.

1) Name: Calixis, AKA: The Maw of Fate, The Crow of Misfortune (symbol: a crow dipping it's beak) 2) Alignment: Chaotic Neutral 3) Power level: Lesser 4) Domains: Death, Misfortune, Crows 5) Details: Calixis is the god of those who die by misadventure and misfortune.
He is often inattentive to his duties, which can lead to long periods of relative safety from his accidental death. But, when he is moved to act (either by whim or by pressure from the other death gods), he often does so with manic energy, leading to a rash of strange deaths under pointless circumstances.
He makes no effort to make sure the deaths he inflicts are interesting or meaningful in any way. While gods like Pix arrange elaborate set pieces, he simply looks for targets of opportunity, and kills with falling branches, unexpected riptides, and anything else that comes to hand when the time comes to strike. Crows serve as his eyes in the world, and their cawing alerts him to potential victims (though he does not always act on their notification).
Those attempting to avoid his attention will often toss coins or food to the crows, but these sacrifices do nothing to affect whether or not they suffer Calixis' attentions. He is more interested if something of interest (not necessarily valuable, just unique) is thrown to them, and these offerings might distract him long enough to let the giver escape unharmed. He is, overall, a lazy god, focused more on whatever has caught his attention at the moment rather than fulfilling his purpose as a death god.
