Another Divine Spotlight episode is in the books, and I thought it would be a great idea to bring back an old DM-Nastics (#9 to be exact) and see what we could make together. It is a collaborative effort to create, and flesh out a god in the Dayeimbe pantheon. As with the other collaborative ones the idea is to take ONE of the aspects listed and complete it while others pick their own. Some of the categories warrant/allow for more than one response (i.e. 11, 12, and 17) but for the most part one post per person until it seems like there has been a lull in the progress then it usually opens up to a more fair game scenario. Don't forget to double check on whether or not someone has posted while you are writing your own to see what other awesome info from the Block Party has shown up since you started writing your own awesome addition!
1. Name- Ygarath "Warmaiden" "Storm-mother" - Joatmoniac/DM Starhelm
2. Domain(s) - Tempest, War - DM Kiado
3. Symbol(s) - A lightning bolt spear coming from a could. Black and navy blue. A banner or pennant with black and navy stripes and two crossed spears in yellow. A horse made of thunder clouds that he rides into battle. - DM Rowan
4. Core tenet #1 - Like the strike of lightning, a battle (or a war) must be swift, calculated, and shocking.
The swifter and more devastating the battle (or war) is, the more Ygarath is honored. - Almarianknight
5. Core tenet #2 - Like the thundering storm, the word of Ygarath shall be spoken with a strength that reverberates through all who hear it. Like the flash of the fulminating bolt, those who wield Ygarath's name shall shine bright and bold so that none mistake the signs of their worship.
Ygarath's true followers never hide, never cower. They declare themselves and the power that guides them to all who oppose them, so that their enemies know the futility of their resistance. - DMForeclosure
6. Core tenet #3 - She teaches her followers to be strong like the storm. The storm blows for itself, not for others. In doing so, others who follow will become strong for themselves. They will either lift themselves up to meet you, or fall before you and underneath your feet.
Speed (lightning). Force (thunder) Fury (wind) - ino
7. Name of worshippers. - Ygarites, Warbringers, Followers of the Bolt and Boom - whipstache. Children of the Storm - Frohtastic
8. Name of Clerics. - Duna, old norse for thunderous noise. They spread the word of Ygarath. The storm domain exists and is perfect for the cleric.
9. Name of Paladins. - Tempests, and only women can take this position as they are in the form of Ygarath.
10. Name of Realm where god dwells. - Stormsurge. A plane of eternal infinite typhoons. His castle is the only land sitting on a rock in the raging storm. - arnil
11. Name & Description of relic filled with gods power - an amulet that can harvest lightning bolts that could be used at a later time. the more that a devout of Ygarath is struck by lightning, the more they are seen as chosen by Ygarth
12. Name & Description of artifact filled with gods power - Mabra, the horse that Ygarath rides. It acts as a flying nimbus from Dragonball Z on bright sunny days, and is a means to an end end for travel. When there is a storm though, it begins to draw forth the power of the storm, and its true power is revealed.
13. Name & Description of holy day #1 - the first rains - the first thunderstorm of the season is a time when the people begin to bask in the glory of Ygarath.
14. Name & Description of holy day #2
15. Name & Description of temples. - A very Viking feel from the previous posts, so for the temples I'm envisioning something like Borgund Stave Church.
Storm Spire or Tempest Temple. Always set on hilltops, near the Ocean if possible. They are towering, multi-level structures with multiple setbacks, each setback with it's own sloped roof with gable, and large iron ornamental spikes at the top of each gable. The spikes at the gables and top spire are lighting bolt spears, from pervious victories. They are all grounded to the earth, as to attract strikes form real lighting bolts during storms. Nearby the main building is almost always a stable and training field for battle. The sound of the horses racing down from the temple into battle is like the rumble of an oncoming storm. - Athikin
16. Name & Description of ceremonies.
17. Connections in Pantheon see DM-Nastics #23
18. Catch all: notable people, events, anything that doesn't fit in a category above fits here
I'll kick it off with number one, and the awesome might of the Everchanging Book of Names and using the name chapter Pokéthulu I came up with: Ygarath. So there it is, and let the god building begin!
