So this is a spin off of the last idea because it was accurately pointed out by DM Windhover that building out characters for the hosts is somewhat difficult given the lack of inside knowledge about us. so instead, it's time to put yourself into the world of Dayeimbe! Make yourself as a 5th level character for 5e fully fleshed out and playable. So crack open those PHBs and get to it. Anything in the Unearthed Arcana article or other books from Wizards are free game as well. You can check here for info if you don't currently have the books. www.5esrd.com/ Also, anything from the friends of the DMB is good too (i.e. tribality.com worldbuilderblog.me/ www.saltinwoundssetting.com/ ) These DMB-PCs are also intended to exist/live in the world of Dayeimbe, so the previous DM-Nastics are game as well. Or if 5e isn't your cup of tea, then go ahead and make it in whatever system you prefer! So what we need from each of you is - Name: 100% up to you how much, or little, of your actual name you use. Ability Scores: Standard Array 15,14,13, 12, 10, 8 (place where you want) Race: see above Class: Background: both the mechanical solution, and just backstory in general is open. Ideals: Bonds: Flaws: Personality Traits: Skill Proficiencies: Starting Items: per the DMG its 500 gp plus 1d10 x 25 gp, one uncommon magic item, normal starting equipment, but as with msot everything these are just guidelines not rules. I say toss in another 1000 gp for good measure amd buying a cool magic item. They need not be perfectly in the rules, as it should be the representation of you that you want, so story trumps rules. Have fun and cant wait to see the results!

Name: Landon Santier (flipped initials of my name) Str 18 Dex 8 Con 15 Wis 13 Int 10 Char 12 Race: Variant Human Age: 15 Class: Fighter (Battle Master) Background: Noble A lone figure on horseback approach the city gates as the late-autumn rain beat on his small frame. Slung behind the boy is the corpse of a knight, armored limbs swaying lifelessly against the chestnut mare. As they neared, the young man clumsily reigned the animal to a stop, splashing muddy water at the guardsmen.
Being a squire was never supposed to be this hard.
“Kind sirs, where may I find the temple of Sigdrifa?” Landon asked the guardsman the gate, young voice quivering in the cold. He nervously adjusted the hood around his face. It was awfully cold. He did not even wait for the guard's reply before spurring his mount gently forward, his face as determined as his destination. It was time for Landon to find his liege the proper place for burial. He had delayed long enough. Had there not been rain, the scent of rot would be overwhelming. At least he had that to be thankful about, right?
Ideals: Respect is due to me because of my position, but all people regardless of station deserve to be treated with dignity. Bonds: My house’s alliance with another noble family must be sustained at all costs. Flaw: In fact, the world does revolve around me. Personality Trait: My eloquent flattery makes everyone I talk to feel like the most wonderful and important person in the world.
Skill Proficiencies: History, Persuasion, Athletics, Animal Handling, Perception Tool Proficiencies: Calligrapher’s Tools, Gaming Set Feats: Sentinel Weapons: Long sword +1, Javelin x 2 Armor: Plate mail, shield, whatever gold is left.

Not really. You can check out the map and the stuff from previous DM-Nastics. An easier digestible version is dayeimbe.wikia.com but it is only usually up to date of the podcast not the forums. Also, given that the world is Heroic Fantasy anything that would fit into that term is fair game. Deep woods, high mountains, plains, desert, etc.

Name: Francis "Kestrel" Davidson Race: Human (variant) Class: Bard (College of Lore) Age: 25 Ability Scores: STR- 12 (+1) DEX- 8 (-1) CON- 10 (+0) INT- 14 (+2) WIS- 14 (+2) CHA- 18 (+4) Background: Sage
The door of the tavern banged open, momentarily filling the room with a cold wind and the smell and sound of rain. A tall, broad-shouldered man pushed his way into the small room, shaking droplets from his shoulders. He removed his hat, tipped about a quart of water from its brim with a rueful smile, then strode to the bar and heaved himself into a stool.
"Barkeep!" he called, his voice a mellow baritone. "A glass of your finest whiskey, please, and a room for the night."
The man behind the bar looked him up and down, taking in at a glance the once-expensive clothes, now muddy and somewhat tattered. A poorly sewn patch was visible on the breast of the stranger's overcoat, and there was a gaping rip in the elbow. The barkeep raised an eyebrow and coughed meaningfully. "That'll be fifteen silvers, master."
"Fifteen silvers!" The traveler's jaw dropped and his eyes opened theatrically wide. "Are you a tavernkeep or a common highwayman?"
The barkeep's expression did not change. He held out a hand and tapped the palm.
"Oh, all right," the traveler grumbled, beginning to fumble through his pockets. "Here, I can give you... eight silvers, three coppers. And I'll sing some songs and tell some tales to loosen the purse strings of your other guests."
For the first time the barkeep's eyes showed a flicker of interest, but his jaw was still set firmly. "Not enough for both the whiskey and the bed. I'll give you the bed for that, or the whiskey and a decent meal. And I'll let you bed down next to the hearth."
"You're a heartless man, you know that? Give me the whiskey, then." As the barkeep bent down to retrieve the bottle from under the bar, the other man withdrew a wooden pipe and a small leather pouch of tobacco from a pocket of his frayed waistcoat. At a whispered word, light flared in the bowl. Soon the man was wreathed in a thick cloud of smoke.
Hard to believe it's come to this, he thought to himself. All that education, and for what? Here sits Francis Davidson, penniless, bartering for my keep with this scum, this mold in the dregs of society, this slimy bast...
"Your whiskey, master," the barkeep said, sliding the glass across the bar with a pleasantly familiar sound.
"Thank you, good sir," said Francis Davidson. He took a sip of the amber liquid.
Salt of the earth, these rustic types, he thought, as the whiskey spread warmth, optimism, and goodwill down his throat and throughout his body. It's not such a bad life after all. He drained the glass.
"Listen up, you lot," he cried out suddenly in a booming voice which filled the room. "You're in for a treat tonight. There isn't a story worth hearing that I can't tell, and I'll tell stories all this night as long as you keep my throat wet." He flicked a finger against the side of the now empty glass. "Any other tokens of your appreciation," he removed his hat with a sweeping gesture, "may be deposited here," and dropped it on the bar beside him.
Swiveling on his stool, Francis Davidson, itinerant storyweaver, turned to face his audience.
"Now what story would you like to hear?"
Traits: I speak with a voice which is deep and mellow, lending gravitas to almost everything I say. I can be both deeply serious and deeply un-serious, often both within a short period of time. Ideals: The pursuit of the truth is fundamental to life, and it is through our stories that we can together seek after it. Bonds: I carry with me at all times the first tattered book of fairy tales and stories which awakened my love of storytelling. Flaws: I am often blinded by my own pride and am rarely willing to admit when I am wrong.
Skills: Animal Handling, Arcana, History, Insight, Persuasion, Religion
Feat: Inspiring Leader
Equipment: Leather armor, a dagger, an old cracked lute, a diplomat's pack, a tattered book of fairy tales, a tome of history, a pipe and tobacco, and a total of 8 sp and 3 cp.

Oh great and mighty powers that be, I humbly beg your pardon for the insolence of my question. If you would permit me, I ask to make use of the pathfinder system.

Name: Yehoshua Potter
Race: Human
Alignment:N/G
Class: Warpriest (Sacred Fist)
Age: 26
Ability Scores: . Str- 12(+1) . Dex- 10(0) . Con- 14(+2) . Int- 15(+2) . Wis- 16(+3) . Cha- 8(-1)
Background: Devoted "If it wasn't for the cursed wind, this rain would be fairly pleasant." Yehoshua muttered to himself, pulling his cloak to shield his face from the elements.
It wasn't that he particularly minded the weather, but the week long trek had put him in a foul mood.
"If that story-teller had not come to Father Davor with tales of a philosopher's stone, I would be back in the temple eating roast potatoes with the other priests not trudging through this mud." Turning his gaze to the sky, "Oh Lord Most High, forgive now your servant for his impudence, but I wonder if this moment possibly might not be the most opportune time to teach me patience, perhaps when I return to the temple? *sigh* No, I suppose you are right. Give me then your wisdom that I may learn the lessons that you teach."
Traits: Tall and solidly built (possibly due to a partial giant lineage) with both laughter and worry lines running across his homely face. He has a rather high pitched voice for someone of his size, because of this he rarely initiates conversation with others but does not shy away from them if someone else begins talking with him.
Ideals: If people could only put their emotions aside they would realize that faith in a higher power is not only logical but often the only rational response to the chaos that life has to offer.
Bonds: Always keeps a heavily thumbed through copy of his holy text with him. Around his neck hanging from a leather cord is a poorly carved bear charm made by his son.
Flaws: Self-doubt, and tends to overeat due to a somewhat irrational fear of dying hungry.
Skills: Heal, knowledge (history), knowledge (religion), perception, sense motive, and survival.
Feat: Scorpion style, Defensive Combat Training, Toughness, Self-Sufficient
Weapon/Armor: None
Equipment/Gear: Woolen clothes, a heavy wool cloak, a leather bound Holy Text, a Sustaining Spoon, his son's bear charm, a steel tankard, a spell component bag, 15lbs of hard tack, 5lbs of dried salted pork, 1lbs of dried tea leaves in a waterproof leather case, and a simple bedroll.
Blessings (Warpriest specific): Knowledge, and Healing

Name: Stephanos "Safehouse" Blake Stats: Str 10, Dex 12, con 8, int 13, wis 15, Cha 14
Race: Human
Class: Rogue (Mastermind)
Background: Criminal (Smuggler)
"We can offer safe storage for both you and your ill-gotten gains, But you must adhere to the rules lest you wish for suffering.." Stephanos is the owner and the proprietor of the inn "The Sly Fox", Favoured amongst the criminal underground as a safe haven and meeting place. With strong connections with assassin guilds, the rules of The Sly Fox is followed if you value your continued existence though the rules are fairly simple: 1. No business is to be conducted on the grounds of The Sly Fox. 2. Anything that happens in The Sly Fox stays anonymous, and as a guest you are to allow the anonymity of other guests.
Stephanos himself is a ex-thief who, after being wounded by a spear trap, had to retire the the life of thieving and smuggling and acquired for himself a sizable estate on which he bases his inn "The Sly Fox" ( Though calling it an inn would be like calling a cupcake a big cake) Through the use of his contacts in the thieves guilds, merchants guilds, the senate and assassins guild he is able to secure himself and his inn as the prime place to lay low. And if its a job offer you're looking then look no further.
Ideals: I don’t steal from others in the trade. The rules of conduct are not to be broken.
Bonds: The inn, my friends and my family.
Flaws:An innocent person is in prison for a crime that I committed. I’m okay with that. As a result of the wound, Stephanos has periods of leg-pain that hinders him from moving too fast.
Personality Traits: I am always calm, No matter the situation.
Skill Proficiencies: deception, stealth, perception, insight, sleight of hand, investigation
( Starting Items: per the DMG its 500 gp plus 1d10 x 25 gp, one uncommon magic item, normal starting equipment, but as with msot everything these are just guidelines not rules. I say toss in another 1000 gp for good measure amd buying a cool magic item. They need not be perfectly in the rules, as it should be the representation of you that you want, so story trumps rules. Have fun and cant wait to see the results!)
HMrm I realize I made something more akin to a NPC than a PC. In any case, my mind just went away with me and I now have a idea on a connecttion between various criminal undergrounds in a place where they did not have to worry about being attacked, etc.
