A day late and a dollar short? We will see! It took a little extra time to make sure that the entry for the only city created for Dayeimbe at this time, Lusina Tirion (aka Tower Town.) Click the link to head to the wiki for more info on the town. Also, thanks whipstache for helping clean things up too! I am thinking of building out the commoners in and around the main tavern for the town! First we will need a name for the tavern/inn/whatever else we add to it. Made up some random ones, and tossed them into a poll for everyone to vote on. Gave two votes per person in case you are struggling to pick just one. The goal is to work together to fill out this tavern/inn/pub with interesting and adequate commoners, as well as just plain fill out said establishment. Think up a job that could be associated with the establishment and tell us who works there (i.e. stable hand, cook, bartender, bouncer, etc.) The establishment can be as large as we want, so don't be afraid to add on additional areas and the commoner that works there. Maybe there is a blacksmith out back because of the traffic that uses the inn upstairs? Giving a brief description of where they work, and their common daily duties could be fun. Hope this one makes sense. If not let me know! Also, here is a preview of J. M. Perkins' book that I found in Google books. bit.ly/1PBR9zY

Not really a fan of any of those names, though I put my vote for #1 for now. The issue I take is the tropish naming convention. "The Adjective Noun" gets overused. Could be mixed up a little, here are some suggestions off the top of my head. Readers may insert "The" in front of any of them if they please. Mason's Rest Three Dogs Howling Alistrad Brewhouse Flintcrown Coppers and Oak Inn at Three Corners Anyway, here's my commoner: Sadima Osterlan, "Little Lady" Sadie: Beloved barmaid of gracious service and quick wit, Sadima grew up at the Osterlan wheat farm on the outskirts of Lusina Tirion. She visited the inn frequently with her brothers, and eventually found work there upon deciding she preferred life in town to farmwork. She earned her nickname ironically, for "Little Lady" Sadie stands at 6'2" and rivals or exceeds most men in terms of strength, to say nothing of will, but she is a woman of good humor, and wears the moniker proudly. Though she possesses a legendary patience for the drunken louts who sometimes inhabit the place, she's entirely capable of putting a man in his place when the situation calls for it. Despite her respectable size, she demonstrates a peculiar grace when going about her job, deftly weaving between patrons and furniture while delivering drinks, and rarely spilling so much as a drop. She's all business on busy nights, but happy to engage guests with small talk and gossip when things are slow. Rumor is someone's been courting her lately, and if the way she blushes when refuting such nonsense is any indication, it's probably true.

The issue I take is the tropish naming convention. "The Adjective Noun" gets overused. Could be mixed up a little. I agree. I'm always up for puns and jokes, though (In a game I'm in, I just named my tavern The Gassy Gnoll.) I voted in the poll, but I'd rather vote for Coppers & Oak and Mason's Rest. I'll add a few suggestions, too. Punny:Able Ink Inn Bargewright Inn Inn-uendo Hops & Scotch Whatever Ales You The Loading Bar Less Punny:Dragon's Flagons Talespinner's Augustus Ellington's Alcohol Emporium
My Commoner: Brand WiggingtonBrand is a taller-than-average halfling with sandy blonde hair and ruddy sideburns, and a regular customer at the bar. He enjoys good food, good music, good pipe herb, although he never seems to have enough of any. Brand came to Tower Town to find work with the Cartographer's guild, but the branch in Tower Town apparently disbanded a few months before his arrival. Without enough money to return to his home town (and no work to return to), Brand hangs around the town doing odd jobs for people in exchange for food, shelter... whatever he happens to need. He works hard and is fairly skilled in a number of different trades (especially clerical work), so, he's not often without a short-term job: drawing wanted posters, copying letters for mass distribution, painting a new sign. Sometimes he even helps out at the bar if they're especially busy. Many people's nerves would fray without knowing where they will be sleeping next, but Brand has become accustomed to the freedom and sense of adventure that brings. Offer him enough coin, and he might be willing to join you on a quest... Because of his interactions with a wide variety of people throughout the city, Brand is a font of information about current events and people within the town. But, he always sees transactions (of every kind) as a means to securing a warm bath, a hot meal, or a couple pints of brew. He can be found most nights in a tall stool with his feet propped up on the front of the performing stage, enjoying the nightly entertainment.

Fine you smarmy Blockheads the poll is going to be deleted. Haha. Side note: we collectively picked Heroic Fantasy and for that if you aren't troping you aren't trying, haha. I'll try and incorporate some of yours with the two prominent ones:
The Laughing Octopus The Burnt Wheelwright
Or I won't put a poll back up ... only time will tell!

lol whipstache, I didn't even realize until you pointed out the punniness, but in Princes of the Apocalypse, there actually is an inn called the Bargewright Inn.

I was thinking of a commoner that gets in With a group of adventurers... But these guys are dicks. Always picking on him, making him carry the bags, playing jokes on him (like sticking a kobold in his sleeping bag). He would be the Squeek from the movie Baseketball of the group.

Here is my idea for a commoner: Torvin Dracall
A black hared and green eyed elf who once was an apprentice to a "stuffy" alchemist. He ditched his master when they had stopped in Tower Town some many years back. Taking what little knowledge he learned from his master, he secured a job at the *insert inn/tavern name* after he impressed its owner with the drinks he could concoct. He delights in seeing satisfaction on peoples faces upon drinking his brews and drinks. He is most skilled with liquors and spirits, though he is trying desperately to concoct an ale that would satisfy a dwarfs staunch tastes.
The Torvin Special is known around town as the drink Torvin is currently working on, which could mean great or dire things for your health. Thus it is a common forfeit for dares inside the establishment.
Torvin Always is asking for new samples of any type of strong ales, particularly dwarven ones, for his research. He pays a fair price for any he can get his hands on.

Hargo Slipshod:
My commoner is Hargo Slipshod, an old gnomish spelunker who has retired to Tower Town as a climbing instructor. He used to tag along with some adventuring parties when they would delve to dangerous depths as a guide, as a result he is a very cunning old gnome. He doesn't drink much, but has a weakness for the popular card games of the area. He will frequently spend the whole night gambling. He has the ability to size up strangers readily while giving away as little about himself as possible. He would talk and act a lot like an ex-cop. He is about average gnomish height and wiry and lean, although you can hardly tell behind his great and ornamental beard. Almost covering his entire torso and legs, he keeps his white whiskers waxed with a glowing blue pate, and changes the design frequently to suit his moods. His yellow eyes are large and set deeply behind a prominent Roman nose. He generally wears a hard cap atop his bald head, although he will switch to fancier caps when his luck has been particularly strong. Business gets very busy on the month leading up to the great climbing race, and he is not generally found in the inn during that time.

Added a ton of names to vote on! 2 votes per person, and all that jazz. Good times and great options. I think that the top few should all be added to the town, but the top one is where these NPCs will be placed.

It's a neck and neck race between "Whatever Ales" you and "Restless Knights Inn (but the K fell off the sign)" I'll leave it up for a little bit more longer so that we can hopefully break the tie!

Just wanted to give another Dayeimbe map teaser. I'm working on it any time I get a chance. Unfortunately, those moments have come fewer and farther between than I had hoped. So, it's been slow going. Anyhow, here's another little snapshot of where I'm at currently.

These teasers are awesome and make me even more excited for the whole thing!
