Ep 42: Bringing the Magic of Magic to D&D V; Monsters of the Multiverse We are regaled by the vast knowledge of #MagicMark once again, and more awesome monsters from Magic. Definitely worth it to head over to the PodBean page to see the awesome pictures. I really like the Nephilim cards and you can't go wrong with more super epic monsters that are akin to the Tarrasque. For the life of me I can't even begin to see how someone would think that a Sliver is a raccoon with a beak! Not much more to say about this one besides more Magic and #MagicMark is never a bad thing!

For the life of me I can't even begin to see how someone would think that a Sliver is a raccoon with a beak! Lol, not a Sliver....the Montauk Monster is a "real" life thing, not from Magic. So funny

Ok, but I stand pretty firm on that not really looking like a raccoon with a beak either. Isn't that the same picture they show for chupacabras? Silly ol cryptozoology! Time to look up a bunch of crazy "real" monsters.

First up, totally had to link this: Also, much to my dismay people are of the mind that that thing is a raccoon, but a normal one, not some crazy beaked one! Haha. After some intense research I came upon these stats for an Eldrazi: Ulamog, The Infinite Gyre Colossal Outsider (Chaos) HD: 48d8+472 (664 HP) Ini: +3 (-1 dex, +4 Improved Initiative) Speed: 180 ft AC: 29 (-1 dex, +20 Natural Armor) Attack: 4 claw+50, Tentacle+50 Damage: claw 1d10+18, Tentacle 2d8+18 Face/Reach: 70x70/40 (Upright), 70x140/40 (Quadrapedal) Special Attacks: Fear Aura (Will DC 29), Improved Grab, Trample, Energy Drain (2d4 negative levels), Constrict, Spell-like Ability (Destruction) Special Quality: Blindsight, Immunity-Mind Affecting Saves: (honestly, I didn't bother doing this part.) Abilities: Str 46, Dex 9, Con 29, Int 10, Wis 18, Cha 1 Feat: Multiattack, Improved Initiative Skill points: 384 Ulamog reappears 1d10 days after apparent defeat (Yeah, this is the return from graveyard effect) Which is freaking terrifying!

google images a raccoon skeleton, and a bald raccoon... looks like it to me. That's not a beak, just the skin fallen off the snout to expose the bone.
Or you know, government conspiracy something.
Good monster showcase in the 'sode! I finally get to run an evil campaign in the near future, so some of these guys are going to be pets more than enemies!

Great episode! Each creature terrified me greatly.
-Interstellar is an awesome movie. But, the eldrazi are horrifying! I'm going to have nightmares of Emrukal for days. -This is a horrifying episode. I imagine a group of wizards on an island. One screams "I've got a Sliver on my foot!" (There are those puns again). -The Tuskan Raider scream was a beautiful touch! - Witch Maw Nephilim. I looked up the art and it is disgusting. Essentially a worm with dentures. And then you told me it can get as big as a mountain...
Loved the episode and now have so many ideas for the table. Great job guys!

Well... I'm going to second this. It's a raccoon (it doesn't appear that way, but it is). science.howstuffworks.com/science-vs-myth/strange-creatures/sea-monster.htmI would just like to know what sea monster this horrible decoration is based of:

It's a racoon.
I never care for card games, probably because i suck at them. However this was a cool episode. I like the monsters and races they were talking about. I love how the creatures if grouped together share each other's powers.
I am going to have to use that.

I love the the idea of swarms of insect creatures. Though I really like the twist that slivers have the ability to share their abilities with the swarm. I like to think that if you buff one sliver then all the slivers in the group get buffed as well. Maybe not healing, but protection spells, resistances, ect. But then if you kill the buffed one they all lose it. I LOVE that. I defiantly need to use this in a campaign sometime.

on the slither boss conclave part I kept thinking of "what if a deafeateds slithers capabilities gets absorbed into another one upon its death" So lets say the conclave have three types of slithers of different abilities. Slither A had those flaming claws and high attack Slither B had thick carapaces and is large creature. Slither C had these poisous needles that it shoots out and some sticky sap that they shoot out. Slither A dies first and thus slither B and C absorbs its flaming claws and high attack capabilities. Aka Slither C now has flaming poisonous needles and shoots out a sticky sap that deals firedamage, and Slither B now has a sort of Fire shooting out of its carapace. Edit: yaaay a shoutout
