Hey there. I am a novice DM from Canada whom has been here for a while (especially as a listener to the podcast) and only came to the forums upon Neal's imploring and decriptions of the big moving labyrinth.
Anyway, I will expand on myself later.
But I am currently sitting here at the table and letting a PC read off a list of the inventory of a deceased PC given back to the party from a Priest at the church performing a funeral for the player (definitely more on that later too), but anyway I am sitting here with some time to type...
So I literally just heard PC1:"who wants this chalice with silver filligree...? ...noone..? Alright.. We will give it to the player not here right now that we are dumping all of his notes and maps on." PC1:"okay.. Who wants one Polished Sapphire?" PC2:"I have one." PC3:"me too." PC1:"so... Noone wants this loot?" PC3(a pirate background):"it seems too easy. I don't want any of this loot" (later) PC1:"okay... Now finally the money." PC2&4&5:"I am okay splitting it 4 ways" PC3(again a CN Pirate Rogue3/Cleric1):"donate my money to the church" And I think at this point PC5 H-Orc Barbar (who is also a pirate background) fell asleep.
It's like pulling teeth to have people take items from a loot pile. Even though the pile is a former friend. And PC6, who was the one who died, has made a new character and is the only one who does not care they died.
...annnyway. End of the night and party is scattering for now. So I shall end this here aswell.
Oh. And a little about me. I have added the Carclair Manor Haunted House from the Halloween episode into my campaign. It has been completed. Definitely more on that later. I made an audio recording on my phone of the sessions and will be transcribing that eventually.
Awesome, and more awesome. It would please rorrik to know that his labyrinth dungeon is still drawing people in! As well it should. That sounds like a very interesting problem to have, players not wanting loot. More often than not I believe DMs experience the exact opposite, and the players are literally trying to take back kitchen sinks to sell for whatever they can get. Glad to have you aboard the Block Party forums now, and can't wait to hear more from you!
