Hey all,
I just made my first post, well, first two posts, and then I found this and figured I would say hi and whatnot.
I got on here primarily to participate in the DM Nastics, but already found other things to post to, so I'll hopefully be around a lot.
I never knew anything about RPG's growing up. Or really any games at all for that matter. I didn't even have the stereotypical ideas when I heard "Dungeons and Dragons." Just, nothing. So when my now-husband brought me home to meet his family over a Thanksgiving break, and his best friend asked me if I would like to play in their Pathfinder campaign he had planned, I had no idea what to expect. So I said yes (strictly for approval). We played two sessions. I think. He says we played 7 or 8, but I'm almost positive it was 2. It's possible it was 3. Maybe.
Anyway. So the first summer after we were married, my husband decided he was going to DM. 2 sessions. For sure this time. I was so frustrated. They brought me into this awesome world of RPGs and then abandoned me there with nothing. So I stumbled upon the DMB and decided to make my own home brew world and DM my own campaign, and by golly we were gonna play every single week and everything was going to be perfect and I would be the greatest DM the world had ever known.
Two months later I finally got 2 players (my husband and his best friend). No one else wanted to join because they had other games that were more interesting to play. Well two is better than nothing, right?
So now we have played 7 sessions. They decided to be evil characters. Nothing has gone as planned and it's all been awesome. I love DMing. And! Just last week one of the others joined. Three players! Woohoo!
All this to say thank you and that things have a way of working even when it seems like they won't, so "Keep on Dungeon Mastering."
