Hi guys,
Brand new DM here, so far all I have run has been the first section of the starter box before we all got bored of it and I decided to come up with my own story instead.
I've organised a group of pop culture nerds leaning towards the arty side of things rather than the straight up geeky (although we love a bit of that too). Most of us spent our teen years as punks or goths or whatever rather than playing MtG or DnD.
We come together with a mutual love of stories, beer and tomfoolery so we'll be playing a pretty loose game and I won't be spending hours arguing rules with people. I'm one of the few people in the group who has even picked up the PHB so mostly I'll be trying to keep the action going in between beers and shouting at each other. Deciding to ditch the pre written and jump straight into world building might turn out to be a terrible mistake but I will keep you all posted either way.
Saw this on another post so thought I'd do it too:
Top Ten Movies:
This is hard to say, but I an tell you that number 1 is the big Lebowski.
2. Army of Darkness
3. Evil Dead 2
4. Wild Zero
5. Pee Wee's Big Adventure
I love Star Wars, Guardians of the Galaxy, Alien movies, other fun space opera stuff, westerns, weird Wes Anderson and Jim Jarmusch movies, a random selection of things.
Top 5 Comic Heroes/Villains
1) Ms Marvel
2) Unbeatable Squirrel Girl
3) Batman
4) Rat Queens
5) Tank Girl
Also love Locke and Key, Wytches, Saga and stuff like that
Top 5 TV Shows
Game of Thrones
Arrested Development
The first 15 or so series of the Simpsons
The Expanse
Stranger Things
Dr Who
have been enjoying Luke Cage and Westworld so far
Top 5 Geeky Activities:
1) collecting records (as in Vinyl)
2) Watching weird movies
3) DnD
4) Playing Animal Crossing and Stardew Valley
5) spending too much time looking at memes on the internet
