Just for a little information, I think I like number 1 a little better. I think it fits the map style more. But it also takes _significantly_ longer, as each tree is drawn by hand rather than painted on. So, that's the subtext of this poll: even if you like Style 1 better, do you like it "better enough" that I should spend an extra, say, 6 hours drawing them. I'm happy to do it, if that's the case. Sometimes you get too close to a project that it's hard to see the forest for the trees, so to speak. That's why I'm seeking other opinions. Forest Style 1: Forest Style 2:

It depends on what you want. I am sort of partial to the first tree design, since it is nice and simple. However, the second tree design might be better, since it can show more of a natural border. It depends on what you are going for. That was probably not helpful at all.

Personally I prefer the second forest style, but I think that the first forest style fits a little better with the (current) surroundings, I might make the forest lines a couple of pixels thinner, though that's just personal preference (and I could be totally wrong about it)

I like the second one best. I think if you used a little blur tool on the first one, it would give a third option. do it just for that layer though.

I prefer the second style, particularly because it matches the crisp lines of the rest of the map. The second forest style looks out of place, to me at least.

I prefer the first, I think the second could be mistaken as terrain.

I prefer the first, I think the second could be mistaken as terrain. Thanks, Mitch. I'm going to go back and redo the forests. I found a third style that isn't quite as time consuming as the first style, but solves the problem that you've described here. Plus, it fits better with the overall style.

I will agree with Mitch. I like both styles, but #2 looks more like background/terrain under a drawn forest more then an actual forest to me. 1 on top of 2 might give an interesting result with the right kind of blends, but maybe not. I have been drawing Warsong maps for months now, and never happy with anything, so I am glad you are getting this far.
