I don't know if any of you know of or play any games from InXile, but I just want to give them a shoutout here and say that they are awesome! They can sell themselves better than I can, but I'm excited so I'm gonna gush a bit.
They have been doing a croudfunded development model for a few years now with amazing results. They did a kickstarter for Wasteland 2, which was a huge success. If you don't know, the original Wasteland is the game that inspired the Fallout series (some of the same developers I believe). I missed out on the kickstarter, but I purchased the game anyway via Patrick Rothfuss's Worldbuilders charity (future Geek topic to come when that fundraiser ramps up) and I've been really enjoying it! I haven't gotten far in it, but its an amazing isometric, turn based, "single player controls a party" game (similar in mechanics to a game like Baldur's Gate or Neverwinter Nights 2) set in a post-nuclear armageddon Nevada.
Their last Kickstarter was for Torment: Tides of Numenra. This is a "sequel" to the Planescape: Torment game (very similar in style and gameplay to the original Baldur's Gate), but instead of being based on D&D (I'm assuming licensing conflicts) it takes place in the world of the Numenera RPG from Monte Cooke Games. This game is still in final stages of development, but its looks amazing and I'm really excited for it!
Currently, they are doing a Kickstarter for A Bard's Tale IV. I was not familiar with the Bard's Tale series, but this game looks and sounds really cool at first blush. Below you will find links to the Kickstarter page and a short Youtube promo video of the graphics/world of the game. I know we've got a lot of RPG and video game fans here (big shock that) so I thought I'd let y'all know. If you pledge at the $20 or higher tier, they are running a promotion for a free license of Wasteland 2, The Witcher, or The Witcher 2, but that offer only lasts until 6:00PM tonight.
Check out the Kickstarter page and the video on there. If this looks cool to you, throw down early and get the benefits! InXile is pretty awesome to their fans and supporters. They recently released a Wasteland 2 Game of the Year Edition, and pushed it out as a free upgrade to not only their Kickstarter backers, but to anyone who purchased the game up the GotY edition release date. Pretty cool move!
Anyway, I hope y'all don't feel like I'm trying to sell you something. I'm just trying to share something I think is really cool! Hope you agree
