6. Lord Mor'th Veelkoreth
An ancient barbarian warlord, Veelkoreth was driven to gain power and control. While violence and force accomplished this goal for a time, eventually more advanced civilizations devised methods of war that sheer might could no longer defeat.
Veelkoreth turned to darker paths that offered longer life, greater strength, control over weaker minds, and access to a magic that few had the will to control. Few would be able to face a vampire in combat and survive; only a fool would seek out a vampire, desiring to be turned. Only one has beaten a vampire into submission, only to drive the fallen vampire's fangs into his own flesh.
Vampirism, it seemed, agreed with Veelkoreth, though his aspect began to change from the Sylvan heritage to...something else. The barbarian strode forth, his very presence driving his foes to their knees. For an age, Lord Mor'th Veelkoreth laid waste to his enemies, drawing ever growing strength from the conquered, before settling upon a throne of bone, beneath the mountain peak of Dhim'asho. An entire continent lay under his grip of iron. Hope, it seemed, had fled with the many refugees.
At last, the gods intervened. Gifting a series of divine artifacts of radiant energy, heroes from many nations and realms across the world began to infiltrate Veelkoreth's domain. Soon, lulled into a sense of security by his own strength, Lord Mor'th Veelkoreth was sealed inside of Mount Dhim'asho, and protected by great glyphs of divine radiance.
Centuries passed as the god's sought to heal and restore the land from the influence of Veelkoreth. The only danger would lie in some fool or madman finding a way to break the god's own seal..and that would be next to impossible, unthinkable, even.

#5 Remember those overgrown tombs we found back in the lightless jungle engraved with ancient elven curses. The stone coffin in the center, raised above the ground, seemed as though it stood outside of time. The glyph dispelled easily, it was so old, but the dc on the combined strength check was 30 to push open the lid. Once opened the dragon bone crown inlaid with gold and the ring of darkness were immediately plundered; then the hand grabbed you and the other sunken and collapsed graves stirred. Then the zombies rose. It was nothing, they all had 1 hp and fell to dust as soon as you touched them, level 1-2 encounter (a gang of feral cats would have put up more of a fight). Well, one of the piles of ash reformed. she has a long way to go, but with each drop of blood Nicoal Nonfful’s power returns and she wants back her crown.

#5 Well, one of the piles of ash reformed. she has a long way to go, but with each drop of blood Nicoal Nonfful’s power returns and she wants back her crown. I LOVE the creeping danger of this! It might be several sessions before rumors begin to surface. It might be months later before the party begins to realize that towns they have visited are reportedly going silent...are they the problem or is something hunting them? Ooh hoo hoo, good stuff!

9. He was born as Gorgan, son of Gorgun and Hannra. He lived in Fellorahm. A quaint village of only half-dragons nestled in a valley rich with history, culture, soil, precious metals, and game, a paradise. His parents co-ruled with love, care, and most importantly, honor. A place of safety, and a place of respect. Any who fell out of line more than once were gifted to the Undying Ones, their benefactors and rulers of the country. This was the only request made of the Undying Ones. Gifts were given with the promise of rehabilitation, though Gorgan never saw or heard of anyone returning. He supposed that they ended up graduating to a new life.
As time passed, Gorgan realized that his village was one of a thousand small civilizations throughout the region. All gifts, no matter their level of repentance, did eventually graduate, but not to a new life. They were first used as slaves, then as a ritual sacrifice for the Undying Ones. The blood extracted from the sacrifices was used to create a life-extending elixir to the High Counts. The sole purpose of the thousand small civilizations was to provide a blood diet, rich with racial variety for those whom he now knew them to be: oppressors. His "honorable" parents had agreed to a blood-pact. Each population was kept isolated from others. In addition to those gifted, there were others who wandered too far or outgrew their "place" and become missing. They were little more than cattle in this land.
He learned rumors of some from other societies that showed promise and joined the ranks of the Undying. Not as slaves, but as members. With a possibility to one day be counted among the High Ones.
And so began Gorgan's transformation over the years. Striving to overthrow his oppressors and turn the society upside down, he worked his way through the ranks of the Undying... only to become one of them himself, a victim of his own selfish ambitions, much like many others before him. He is now known as Drakan Gorgquist, the Winged One, the Court Enforcer. His robes forever stained with the blood of his victims; which include none other than Gorgun and Hannra, The Agreeable Ones. For it was their compliance that perpetuated a life of ignorant bliss and set Drakan on the path he is now.

7. Before the undeath, Captain Bralvin 'Longfang' Shordard was a ruthless, low down, dirty pirate. Afterwards he was much the same but with the added vampirism and adjusted moniker of 'Redfang'. Once having preferred the open seas, Redfang now keeps the ship close to the shoreline as running water is no longer as enticing as it once was. The Captain initially regretted attacking that cargo junker with the quiet crew. He remembered that they watched on quietly as he gave his usual 'put the fear up their arses' speech before slaughtering some and press ganging others. It was strange to recall how some had a glimmer of relief as the blade swung at them. He see's the same in the eyes of some of his own crew now when they are in danger. Those that are still alive enough to have eyes that is. Now he understands it was for the best. How else would he keep doing what his black heart loved? Redfang and his crew fade in and out of ports in the night like mist, leaving red splattered trails behind. Most of his crew have crossed into undeath as well, the first being Redfang's own hound which is now a vampire spawn in its own right. Unawares travelers or ports who see the ship think it is a derelict, drifting on the waves carelessly. If they investigate soon learn how real ghost stories can be, they're now in one!
