Currently running a campaign where mind flayers are the big bad and had the idea that at some point in their conquest they acquired a tarrasque and used it as a host for their elder brain in a similar way that they use humanoids to make new mind players. This idea then led me to ponder, would the terrasque be as powerful as a regular one if serving as a host for an entity that doesn't typically fight physically? I do plan on nerfing this monstrosity some because I don't want to flat out punish my players, but thought it would make a terrifying final boss! Thoughts on the subject appreciated!

I love this idea! It could be that they use the tarrasque as the ultimate way to protect the brain. It could be the reason that the tarrasque is sticking around in the world because the elder brain isn't allowing it to go anywhere else. You could have it be a continual struggle between the elder brain and the tarrasque's regeneration. How are they stemming that regen and what happens if they fail? Are the things it's controlling being corrupted? Also, it could be that if the brain gives up control of other creatures to control the tarrasque giving it more powers than normally. Again, super cool idea! Love it so much!
