Honestly, these could be game breaking. I believe that with the small group I have, it would be a sneaky and very amusing.
There are several rings. Each ring has a major perk attached to it. The rings have have +4 to each major attribute. However, once worn the other "side effects" appear. Each ring has two hidden attributes, -2 of 2 major skills or -4 to one attribute. The skill with value detracted is determined by 2d6.
Let's assume that the pc decides to wear a single ring. Their stats will likely make them rethink their character. Let's again consider if a pc decided to wear 3 rings. They could have a significant boost to 3 attributes but have a critically low score in one stat or low scores in one or two.
This sounds like an easy enough problem to solve, take the ring(s) off. The good old God of trickery would make it that easy would he? Once worn, they cannot be removed. It can't be remover easily that is, a priest of Meeric. The priest has to use the Blade of Rendering. The appearance of this blade is reminiscent of a butchers bloodstained meat cleaver.
The cleaver nullifies the magic holding the ring to the digit for a short time allowing it's removal.
The chant would likely be something similar to, "Now I separate thine problem from thee" as the flat of the blade touches the ring.
