When worn, wearer's visage becomes somehow unable to be recalled; anyone looking at wearer will find their gaze sliding off to look at something else. Players must make a flat DC 15 Wisdom check to realize that the effect is in place. This does not break the effect, merely allows them to know that the wearer is presumably hiding something about their face.
I came up with this for an Illithid NPC I made for my campaign, and thought I'd see how people liked it/if anyone thought of any improvements or tweaks. The name is a bit of a placeholder; it's a reference to Welcome To Night Vale, specifically a character named The Man In The Tan Jacket whose appearance nobody quite remembers after he leaves them, before shortly forgetting he even exists.
