Of course it is. Why wouldn't it be. Let me try to fix that. Edit: I fixed it! The image is there now. Sorry for the mix-up.

I really like the idea of a forced "feign death". Perhaps you should give other conditions for such a thing to resolve though (through the kiss of a prince/princess, a vow of love, an act of sacrifice), but that would be a plot hook in itself!

I like this one a lot. The Tome of Beasts is another great resource to grab monsters that aren't the mundane. I used a Putrid Haunt that is a zombie that vomits leeches onto someone next to it, and when the leeches do dmg the zombies get that amount in temp hp.

My next monster! I may not play Pathfinder, but by golly I'll steal all I like from it.

Pathfinder had some awesome additions to it. Particularly the monsters .

Haven't used them yet, largely due to a lack of campaigns in the region and the setting being ~1 year old, but feel free to use and/or modify my shriekers for your games. On one condition: you share all the sordid details of how the PCs bleed from their ears after facing them! I personally recommend making use of the banshee cry from Mass Effect 3 to really creep your players out if you choose to use the shriekers.
