13. Name & Description of Holy Day #1: The High Chronicle. This holy day consists of both feast, and legend, all culminating in the Great Memoir. A contest in which contestants vie for supremacy in spinning the most fantastic tale. The only rule is, it must be a true tale, yet applicants are allowed one falsehood. You can place wagers in the tent known as The Bookmark, which if you win, you're allowed one more falsehood. If you lose, your entire story must be true. Many contestants wager high, and often come into the Memoir with a few falsehoods to use. However the strategy is the best story, with the fewest falsehoods, wins. Contestants tell their tale in front of a 3-panel judge bench, who are scored individually, without the aid of magic. Once all contestants have spoken, they each tell their tale again, under a Zone of Truth. The best story, with the least amount of lies, wins!

So for #10 - Arcwelon resides in the realm of Ismeret (Hungarian for knowledge and sounds very D&D to me.) Everything solid within the realm appears to be woven together by something that is hard to comprehend at first. Upon closer inspection it is in fact woven together with the stories from inumerable places and peoples. The realm is never the same twice when a creature enters it. The only constant is that everything seems to flow in one direction. It is assumed that everything is flowing towards Arcwelon, but few (if any other than Arcwelon) can confirm this.

**The following is a testament to my complete lack of patience and is not meant to offend or have any other ill effect** See, if you just have a little patience, the Block Party will come through. This has quickly become a firestorm of ideas and one of my favorite DM-Nasitcs threads so far.

This has quickly become a firestorm of ideas and one of my favorite DM-Nasitcs threads so far. I just took my dog for a walk (1.5 hours) and came back to this... I was like "Wow!.. Wait there is a second and third page!) haven't got the time atm to read everything yet but am super excited to get to it later. Edit: Also, it should be mentioned I have the patience of a young child on Christmas morning...

Ya this thread has really exploded and I agree is one of my favorite DM-nastics yet because it so co-operative we are creating something together. I also love that nowhere in my original post did I issue a desire for alignment but some of the best ideas and discussion have come from speculating Arcwelon's alignment. Keep it up guys we almost have finished this god.
I have updated the original post to include the info we have made so far.

So, the remaining things are:
11. Name & Description of relic filled with gods power.
12. Name & Description of artifact filled with gods power
14. Name & Description of holy day #2
16. Name & Description of ceremonies.
Also, we need to agree on an alignment possibly. Maybe a poll?
Note:DM_Mainprize when you altered the original post with the new info you left the part where you said "3 great posts so far" by accident. Just thought I'd mention that...
Also, loved the Reading Rainbow reference!
Ok, well I better answer one of these then...
11. The Eternal Tome - There are legends of a man who walks the land gathering stories in a small black book which bears the mark of Archelon. Some say the man has been granted immortality, others believe he has the ability to walk between time, skipping forward and backwards all the while collecting information. Although no one knows for sure how he got this object or what it does exactly, they do know that he has been present at every major event for thousands of years.
So basically, if I had to describe this object it allows its user to fill it with stories and in return it seems to stop them from aging. This item is not given lightly, or perhaps there is only one in existence. What I can say is that he who possesses it is in many ways the closest person to Arcwelon.

I'll take 12 which I was flopping back and forth on about which my idea would fit into. Arcwelon's Magnum Opus - This giant tome was penned by the god himself, or so the story goes. It grants the owner proficiency and advantage on all knowledge based checks made while in possession of the tome. The true power of the tome is allowing it's user to relive stories within its pages. If they know a story they are allowed to travel to that time and place, and take with them those who know the story as well and are in physical contact with the tome. This allows those who travel through the tome to rewrite the story through their actions. Definitely a Spiderman type scenario "with great power comes great responsibility."

I'll take 16, though I'm afraid this is quite long. 16: The Ceremonies for Arcwelon are inspirational. Even followers of other deities Evil or Good, come to these ceremonies for their stories alone. Adventurers come to these often to learn of rumors of treasures or rumors concerning things they are looking for. A follower of Arcwelon is required to take in stories, wherever they are. At these Ceremonies, to give back to Arcwelon, they stand and shout their stories in long public orations (note they are not allowed to do it in monotone but need to display stories with passion and almost 'acting' style). While one of the assembly is orating, there are two people in the audience (who are also participating in the Ceremony) The Listeners listen to the stories, but usually spend the time jotting down stories. The other religious group are the Repeaters who write down what the Orator is speaking using a form of shorthand. This is the most basic of ceremonies referred to by outsiders as the Climax of Tales.
This is a great place for players to hear about rumors and other things, outside of the local tavern (I suspect that this angers local bartenders).

Also, we need to agree on an alignment possibly. Maybe a poll? I actually think we should leave this god alignment-less, or at least let each DM decide what alignment to give him in their own campaigns. I dont know if gods exist in an alignment=less state but I think this god certainly fits the bill. Just from the other posts about the way his worshippers might interpret him/argue over his nature. I think it makes him unique.

I like Mainprize's Idea and it seems to fit well. What you like in a story could reflect how Arcwelon behaves in your universe.
