True does not equal Good. True.

Then neutral it is because I couldn't care less the alignment, haha. Especially if the idea is that a follower could be any alignment they want. It is also the god we are talking about. A true neutral god probably wouldn't care if every single one of their followers wasn't neutral if their goals were being met.

I was thinking Neutral. The tenets say nothing about doing good, or creating good story outcomes. Only collecting and participating in story. So, a follower may not intervene in a horrible situation just to see how the story comes out and record it. Individuals could be CG, or really any alignment. But the deity and religion strike me as "other motivated".

That is a great example of the base idea, but I hope that Arcwelon doesn't look like a giant baby in a dress. Also. Marvel has no problems bucking that trend lately, especially the one that is Deadpool's biggest fan, haha.

I love the Paladins DMC and I agree with Joatmoniac, I would love to play one. I would argue good, just because stories tend toward happy endings. If he was Neutral though I would put him at a Lawful neutral, because stories do follow patterns of logic, even if they don't seem to.

No, but it can't be disputed that many stories usually tend toward good, happy endings. A story is a story, good or bad ending, but the majority of stories end well. So for the majority of the time at least, the God would be good. But I could see him being Neutral. I love the Paladins DMC and I agree with Joatmoniac, I would love to play one. What you say is true of fictional stories, but not as many true stories have happy endings. I'm not sure this god or priesthood would care on that point. I'll quote Skarpi, from Rothfuss's Kingkiller Chronicles again, "All stories are true, but this one really happened if that's what you mean." I also love the Paladins and I'm already tweaking this priesthood for my homebrew world!

I only leaned towards Chaotic because it doesn't seem like this deity is just interested in knowledge, but story. Not just the facts, but the presentation. I imagine theatrics of a holy-roller church, not just the dry monotone droning of spoken liturgy. As such, I saw him more interested in the spectacle, than the message. Sure the end results should be mostly the truth, but what's the harm in saying there were two-thousand orcs, when in reality there were just two? LOL

I think that the god should be Neutral, but those that follow him lean towards good. I would envision that evil people would want to hide information about this that and the other or alter it in some way for personal gain or chaos. The plots that could come from that are pretty sweet, two conflicting accounts which is true? Only record of an event is missing? Wild goose chases set for by the evil to distract the good? You have really outdone yourself with this one Dmmainprize!!

But you are probably right the majority probably wouldn't care, as long as it was a 'good' story.

You have really outdone yourself with this one Dmmainprize!! Yes, and evil people usually try to twist stories so that they follow their train of thought. I imagine that this deity doesn't enjoy allegories or satires he just wants the story. I'd put him under Lawful Neutral just because stories do flow 'logically' and there is a concrete basis (though widely disputed) for 'good' stories.

The priests would likely have factions, some would want the knowledge and stories openly accessible (CG), some would want to only give out stories deemed "safe" (LN, LG), and some may want to hoard all stories, and keep the secrets close (LE), others would ignore the outside world and only concern themselves with story (N). These last may worship a great Story; seeking an overarching narrative to the world.
