While my campaign was still going, one of my players (a minotaur cleric) decided to adopt winter wolf cubs. While the moment is now lost, he had planned on raising them, and had even made provision of kitting them out in platemail when they were large enough to wear it! The idea was both ridiculous and genius, so naturally it was going to work! Later suggestions were made to enlarge the creatures so that even a minotaur could ride it into battle. It would have been epic cinematic moment. What he doesn't know is that the new character he's playing will run into it with his friends . I feel that plans like that shouldn't die just because a campaign goes south.

That is an awesome way to have long term buy in from your players. When they know that their ideas are respected and potentially brought up in later campaigns. Also that is a terrifying image to think about. You could even get some images from Google searching "tauren on wolf mount" from world of Warcraft as that combo is easily obtainable.

Loving it! I agree with joatmoniac about getting some long term buy in from your players by doing this. Players love cameos of things they remember or characters they have played because it makes them feel that they have an impact in the world they are playing in.
