Hi all,
My name is Paul, Im the DM and editor on Swordnut Radio. I got turned on to DMB through some mutual contacts of the show (Battlebards, How We Roll and some others if you are out there - hi:-)).
Im an archaeologist by trade, Ive been a carpenter, where I made period furniture and wooden weaponry for martial artists. I also teach HEMA - Medieval German Longsword, English Sabre and Italian Rapier. So, feel free to ask any questions.
Im currently running a 5e game, along with some intermittent FATE, Dread and InSpectres

Many welcomes! Very excited to hear what parts or areas of your trade bleed over into your DMing style and hope to hit you up with tons of questions about how to best decorate, populate and present places and things from years long past in my own settings. Will certainly check out Swordnut radio!

Greetings! You are officially a Block Head now. Super excited to see what you contribute to the forums. I feel like having taht much real world weapon training could be a blessing, and sometimes a curse. Welcome again and run amok on the forums!

Cheers fellas!
Real world weapon (and armour) knowledge is good if you use it to say "yes" or "yes, but". I suggest things if my players are drawing a blank, like "yes you can throw a sword, but you might want to be ready to grapple" or "knives vs longsword? Yes, but here's how it's way cooler than even you were thinking".
Using specialist knowledge to say "no" isn't fun.
