Greetings block party!
So I would like to start with some back story...
My current campaign is set in what the players know to be the entire world which takes about 5 days to travel across on horse back. they are surrounded by a mountain chain that encircles them and no one has ever traveled past them believing that if you do you would fall off the face of the world. there is a body of water in the center with an island city in the center connected east to west with massive bridges known as the Imperious Solaris. (at this point they only know of one god that they believe to be embodied by the sun)
The players are high ranking members of the imperial inquisition seeking out both demons and the worship of demons.
So to the point of this thread, instead of prepping each session I have prepared a timeline which begins at the beginning of this campaign and I have events set to take place at specific dates barring pc interruption, then at the beginning of the campaign I put several leads towards the events unfolding in the world.
this has worked out very well so far we are 3 sessions and 2 weeks (game time) into the session and they are just a few steps behind of the events unfolding (clues overlooked)
and I feel like my players are more enthralled and paying more attention having figured out that if they don't figure out whats going on in time that they might not be able to stop it and it also keeps me from trying to guess what direction they are going to go in because I have a set plan for what all factions are up too at any given time.
if any one wants more info on the plot and whats currently going on just hit me up, easiest to catch me thru twitter and tell me to post more on here
