Awhile back on the WotC forums, someone requested help making stats for a so called "weregiraffe." I hesitantly accepted the challenge. It's silly, but sometimes games need silliness.
This is not a player race, just a monster stat block, though it could conceivably be converted to a player race with the rules in the DMG.
WEREGIRAFFE
(suggested image: www.barez.ca/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/weregiraffe.jpg)
Medium humanoid (human, shapechanger), neutral
Armor Class: 11 (dex) in humanoid form, 12 (dex, natural armor) in giraffe and hybrid form
Hit Points: 58 (9d8+18), 74 in giraffe form
Speed: 30 ft. (40 ft. in giraffe or hybrid form)
STR 15 (+2) DEX 12 (+1) CON 14 (+2) INT 10 (0) WIS 14 (+2) CHA 12 (+1)
Skills: Perception + 6
Damage Immunities: bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing damage from nonmagical weapons that are not silvered
Senses: Passive Perception 16
Languages: Common (cannot speak in giraffe form)
Challenge: 3 (700 XP)
Shapechanger. The weregiraffe can use its action to polymorph into a Large sized giraffe-humanoid hybrid or into a Huge sized giraffe, or back into its true form, which is humanoid. It's statistics, other than its size, HP, and AC, are the same in each form. Any equipment it is wearing or carrying isn't transformed. It reverts to its true form if it dies.
Distant observer. The weregiraffe gains advantage on perception checks against threats at least 50 ft. away.
ACTIONS:
Multiattack: The weregiraffe makes two spear attacks (humanoid), one headbutt and one with its spear (hybrid), or one headbutt and one with hooves (giraffe)
Spear (humanoid and hybrid form): Melee weapon attack: +5 to hit, reach 5 feet, one target. HIT: 1d8+2 piercing damage.
Headbutt (hybrid and giraffe form): Melee weapon attack: +5 to hit, reach 5 feet (hybrid) or 10 feet (giraffe), one target. HIT: 2d4+2 bludgeon damage (hybrid) or 2d6+2 bludgeon damage (giraffe)
Hooves (giraffe form only): Melee weapon attack: +5 to hit, reach 5 feet, one target. HIT: 2d4+2 bludgeon damage
