Hello,
My DM is letting us players have a starting magic item to start the game. The item is unique and is suppose to be a scaling magic item. The item can be any thing we want like a sword or an amulet etc. We are starting at 3rd level and the items will have a sort of skill tree that by levelling up we get points to put in to our item. At first and second level we get one point and after that we get a point every 4 levels. The skill tree is broken down to three branches the offensive, utility, and defence. The first point in every tree is an ability that we can use with that item, the second one is an ability score increase that we get only when we are carrying our item; after that it rotates back and forth. If I put a point in the offensive tree I get an ability that is suppose to be an offensive attack and so on for the other trees. The abilities the item gets is created by the players but needs approval by the DM so some thing that's not game breaking.
Ok so what I would like help with is brainstorm so ideas for my item. I have a out line of what I want. I'm playing a bloodrager CN in pathfinder and I'm taking the blood part to heart taking the archetype blackblood as my bloodline. My item is blood tome that I fight with, so tome in my left hand and a sword in the right. I was thinking of some sort of abilities that use my Heath at the cost of hp and con score to have an effect. My DM says since I want a bad side of effect that my powers can be great than the average. I'm kind of basing my character from the anime Deadman Wonderland. So any ideas on abilities for an attack with blood or defensive or utility that would be ok for a level 3.
thanks for any advise!
