(very) Basic Bio: My name is Tony, and I live in NorCal, but I've done time in SoCal (college and a little while after). Gainfully employed moving bits around and making them do stuff.
D&D Bio: Started with the Holmes blue box Basic Set (with B1: Search of the Unknown) when I was 10 years old. My friends and I were hooked immediately. I still have the dice that came with that box set! From there we moved on to AD&D with the Player's Handbook, DMG, and MM. I bought (and still have) a ton of supplements from a variety of sources, but mostly Judge's Guild and (of course) TSR, plus plenty of copies of Dragon Magazine and a White Dwarf or two. Had most of the Grenadier figure sets, plus a bunch of Ral Partha singles. We played a couple different campaigns over the years, up through the end of high school, including Greyhawk, The Citystate (Judge's Guild), and a mish-mash homebrew. Ran pretty much all of the published TSR modules, a bunch of JG modules, and plenty of home-made modules. 2nd Edition had come out towards the end of high school, but none of us felt like buying all new books. We picked up some supplements, though, to incorporate into our homebrew campaign. Good times, then college. Never really found a group in college, so gave it up for a while. Got started up again a couple years ago, first (briefly) with 4e, which I didn't really care for (no offense to anyone who likes it), then with Pathfinder, playing on Roll20. I'm now all-in with 5e and love it. Very streamlined and doesn't get in the way of the fun.
My very first character was a fighter named Taran, who's name I took from the Chronicles of Prydain, and is obviously where my username comes from.
Recently Read: I posted a list of some of the books I read as a kid in another thread, but here are some I've read more recently:
