With the downfall in quality of multiplayer on XBL, I am looking for a new gaming substitute until Sept 1 when Metal Gear Solid V: Phantom Pain comes out. It would need to be on the cheaper if not free section of things as I am saving what little money I have at the moment for MGS.
I have a pretty decent computer and a Xbox One.
ANY SUGGESTIONS is much appreciated, lol I can only watch Star Trek soooo many times with my little one before things start to get crazy!

I had mine written out with reasons, but lost it... I'll just write them real quick. However, I am strange when it comes to video games and prefer, when I'm waiting, to go back to the classics. I've also been out of the loop for a long time so my games will be... dated. -Ultima: any Ultima. Probably can be found free online. My favorite video game RPG series. -Doom: if you haven't played all three Dooms, then going back and trying to finish one you haven't might be fun. It's fun to lose oneself to the mindlessness of this FPS.
I tried to avoid adding in Splinter Cell and text based games... however these are afp few of the first things to come to my mind.

If you're looking for free, you could try one of the D&D MMOs. I've played Dungeons and Dragons Online: Eberron Unlimited, and it was fun for a while. I haven't tried Neverwinter, but its F2P as well. If you want cheap, take a look over here: Good Old Games This site offers DRM free games ranging from brand new titles to old school games of all types. They've got games like Planescape: Torment and Baldur's Gate 2 for $10 (not sure if that seems cheap to you or not).

ONe that recently captivated me for quite some time was Darkest Dungeons. It is a rogue like game, so not necessarily for everyone, but was a ton of fun to me. There is of course most anything from TellTale games: Walking Dead, Game of Thrones, Wolf Among Us, etc.

And tell me how MGS V is... I just got a Xbox and have been debating what games to get for it. Got FFXIII... and I have fallen deeply in love (again) with the series. It makes me want to do a JRPG styled D&D campaign, just another idea I will add to the multiverse of ideas floating around in my head.

I would argue that FFXIII might possibly not be the best one to base it on BUT then again the old games were pretty lineral as well. speaking of JRPG, tried the Breath of Fire series?

My absolute #2/3 favorite!! (Dragon Warrior comes somewhere right next to it, either above or below). Actually, I believe I based a recent campaign idea off of a scene from BoF II... I think that was the number. I have not been too worried by XIII's linear gameplay, so far... but, then again, I mainly play it to get lost in the story/world/characters. My favorite 'gameplay' is from games such as the MGS and Splinter Cell series, I'm a sucker for spy/stealth games.

My favourite was nr 3 and its system there, the dragon genes, the mentor system, the faerie village... brb getting my psvita. BF5 was a bit weird but I liked it. kinda wish they would make more Breath of Fire games but I guess it aint a possibility. other than that, FF8,9,6,,,10? are pretty high up on the list for me. havent really played dragon warrior (dragon quest? ) in XIII there are certain weapons that you just have to hold onto because they become some of the more powerful weapons, think its the lionheart for lightning because of its increased stagger rate? reminds me that I have to finish the game.

I haven't played a Dragon Quest Game since Dragon Warrior III on my GB Color... so it's stil Dragon Warrior to me .
