So, a few years ago I worked on a collaborative worldbuilding project using Pathfinder rules. We created a world that was enduring a collapse from high-magic to low-magic as well as the sudden emergence of divine magic. The past had magocracies, one of which did a huge amount of research and work into human-animal hybrids. Basically we wanted a ton of beastfolk of various kinds, and that was our reason, at least a thumbnail of the idea. I know the hosts are fans of beastfolk races, so I thought I'd post the ones we came up with here, because why not? These were created with the rough pathfinder points system that Paizo put out when they were working on Ultimate Races. The final version is pretty similar, so I think the builds are all still pretty balanced. Anyway, here you go: Galidines: mongoose hybridsMuroideans: you got your ratfolkBoriwogs: part human, part boar, all awesomePantheria: great catsTestudo: tortoise-folk, and my personal favoritesEgalits: birds of preyUrsidians: bears! not my favorite name but I like them Selkies: otters, and the only name stolen from folkloreOphidians: serpent-folk. Obviously, not big fans of galidinesLupines: wolf-folkHoundings: the first beastfolk created, out of dogsBuzzkin: these were as crazy as we got - intelligent humanoid swarms
Let me know what you think, beastfolk fans. Having read back through some of this work, I'm still pretty happy with how far we got crowd-sourcing a whole setting.

Eek gads! These are great! I love the Testudo and Ursidians. The Pantheria and Galidines fall into my second tier. Will have to give these a more in depth look, and likely incorporate them into my current campaign!

I've grown ever more fond of beast folk after reading more about them (indeed, my favorite race now is a mousefolk). I love the idea of Boriwogs (though for probably a less serious character/NPC), they would seem to make for really fun encounters. I believe my favorite would be the Selkies, I'm a fan of Otters.

I don't think I double checked them after Ultimate Races came out, but the point-based race creation system in that book was basically the same as the one they released via Paizo's forums, so I'm pretty sure these are all balanced. Enjoy! I'm happy to know that they are getting more mileage.
