Yesterday when i was DMing my group i decided to give my players a Nerf Sword to roleplay with. They had so much fun doing flavor text kills or misses or even prayers to their god to help them hit or be missed. I would give them a +1 or +2 depending on what they would do. I have to say they had allot more of fun because it. Now i am planning on getting more.
My question (most likely for tabletopers) do you use any props, if so what do you use?

I use props as much as I can manage. Aside from the usual minis, markers, and tokens (which are, technically, props) I try to build any particular structures out of LEGO or craft foam (if only to help with the visualization). I also like giving my players puzzles and I find it's much better to give them a picture of the mystical icon-heavy puzzle of doom than to try leaving it to their imaginations. It won't come up for many months now but down the road I have a sidequest planned where the party will act out a scene for a community play. The scene just happens to be the Black Knight scene from Quest for the Holy Grail with some minor adaptations to make it fit in this setting but the players will be encouraged to ad lib off script if they like. I was thinking I might whip up some toy swords and/or silly masks for the players to use while they play their characters playing make believe fictional characters in their play. If only because it amuses me. ^_^

The only prop I have used has been coinage. Was able to get an entire bag of cheep bronze coins from a Chuck E. Cheese-like arcade! Gauntlet Arcading and D&D props in one day!

Or worse become horrible melted puddles of coinage!
DM: "excuse me, Player, how much gold coins do you have?" Player: "umm (counts melted coins) that would be 2 ounces..."

Personally, I don't use props (aside from tiles/minis/tokens), but that's more laziness than anything else.

If I'm being honest, I kinda want to give my players an airship now just so I have an excuse to make one. >_>

Impressive. Most impressive.
I drove an actual dagger into the kitchen table once. I'm divorced now.

Yep, thatta do it. Did you do that in a game? I can imagine making that look cool in the middle of a D&D game (if it stuck and didn't fall over). Buying a cheep plastic table for the act might be cool (and dangerous).

Was a dramatic in-game moment. Party was bickering on what to do next, and the NPC got fed up and did it. Was very much art reflecting life. LOL
For the record, splitting up wasn't related to that incident at all. Just sounded funny and had good dramatic effect. Heh heh...

If you count player handouts as props, then I do. Pictures of what I am describing, letters, scrolls, information from books that are important that they might find. I bought this really fancy Cthulhuesque scroll that I gave to my players when they broke up a cult and found the scrolls that the cultists were using. It was written in an unknown language with some images and blood stains throughout it. It was made to look well used and worn. They loved it.

Spotted these at Michaels this afternoon and figure someone, somewhere, sometime will have to use them as their Shiny McGuffin from one heist or another. I'm sure they're just plastic but they've got a bit of heft to 'em. Not quite a papercraft aircraft but prolly a little faster to manage. =)

Now put that on a stand on the center of the table and that is certainly an awesome prop.
