Hi all!
I'm a new dm and just started my first campaign. The party I'm running for is rather small (2 players) but I figured having the few npcs they start out with would really help balance combat encounters.
And it did up until Ilvara (priestess of lolth) caught up with them in the last session and summoned a demon. Things went downhill for the party from that point and although no pcs died, they have been recaptured. I figured she would take them to menzobarezzan but I'm blanking on how she would get them there seeing as how her and asha were the only two who survived the encouter on the drow side. Also one of the players has dawnbringer now and I'm not sure what ilvara would do with it. I was thinking she would want to get it back to her house and use it to advance her position.
Any advice for these questions or just general advice in how to run this next session would be awesome and greatly appreciated!

Sounds like there is a lot going on here - it's hard to comment to specifically without a lot more background specifics on your campaign goals, player information, etc.
Are the PCs people that Ilvara respects or just pawns she's captured? If she is dismissing them as inept, perhaps they are overlooked in whatever prison they are kept in and can manage to escape and teleport home?
Maybe they are gifted to a lieutenant of hers as a reward - the PCs are taken somewhere nearby that isn't too inconvenient to escape from.
If they aren't valued prisoners, maybe they can barter their way to freedom?

Well basically the goal of the campaign is to escape the underdark, I'm just using oota as a springboard for the campaign, after making it to the surface one pc really wants to be a captain in the army (think like a large human empire) and the other pc is wanting to become the head of her druid circle. Both pcs are not very experienced players, one is a fighter the other is a druid. I was actually planning on them managing to beat ilvara due to so much npc help, but best laid plans and such. I'm leaning towards them being released back into the underdark and hunted as part of the blooding ritual. Be a sort of soft reset for them. Think this might work?

Absolutely if that is an angle you were already planning for!
