After the Vanilla Ice reference this morning in my other thread about too much story, I got to thinking how great of an NPC would that be in the Bards Guild. In my world, the Bards Guild is almost an entire town, becomes like Cancun on spring break during the month of graduation, and does a "America's got talent" type event for entry exams. So I just tossed this guy in.
"When the player(s) walk in to the audition area, they are asked to sit down and act as judges. It is stated that after a few rounds of meh performances, this guy comes out":
Well built but not bulky. There is something wrong with his hair. It is obviously not naturally blond, but it isnt any kind of natural color... It looks like a drunk pixie was having fun. He really wants to be a rapper, first of his kind in this realm. As a person, he seems really energetic also slow witted. Has high aspirations but also seems really oblivious to how the world actually works. As such, he will be upbeat when he speaks, but is apt to recommend things that are wholly impractical if not impossible.
"Hey. Im Lavender Snow. I really wanna be a bard cause... you know. I got this great rhyming talent.
"Cease, now let's get to together and hear me,
Snow is here with a brand new thing-ee.
An object grapples me strongly
Flow like a javelin brightness to darkly
Can it ever cease? I am not sure
Turn down the lanterns, and I show pure
To the maximum I sing to the crowd like a thug
Become a star on the stage and see me leap like firebug
Jive!" Which is where the bard guild judge cuts him off.
"Well... I think you're !@#$. But I'm not the deciding factor here, the bard is. He's been around and knows what will sell and get women to open up. So, does... What was this guys name? Lavender Snow? Does he have it?"
This is where the npc becomes either positive or negative. If the bard supports him, he becomes positive, will give information, send updates, and be a near lackey. If negative, Lavender is kicked out of the bards guild and he becomes so angry about having to go back to work on his father's chicken farm that he goes mad, and hunts down the player (but as he is relatively weak, doesnt pose a challenge... or does he?)
