So my name isnt really Zinthos, I know shocker! Its actually Jack. I ran across this forum when I was desperately seeking out D&D podcasts to help me with my new campaign. As a new(ish) DM, I was having SERIOUS issues trying to figure out what the mechanics were of creating a world. I had an idea, and thankfully after listening to this podcast, I scrapped it and started over... A few times. The campaign I have built now is infinitely better than what it started out as. I wish I could attribute it to drugs, sex, or rock and roll, but sadly none of those are true, it was just bad. But again, better now!
Anyway, I work for a small but agile IT company in sales, Im the only one, after they poached me from my last gig as their account manager for a large IT Reseller. Never been happier. Now, I can listen to my podcasts, write my campaigns, and call customers all at the same time! Its fantastic! I dabbled in various role playing games for the last 20 years or so, starting with the red box, and trying new systems (often by myself), and trying to write campaigns and design maps. Nothing ever really stuck though, as often happens, games fall apart, people move, change interests. I took a break for about 6 years but after having listening to another D&D Podcast, I fell back in love with it and it got me to where I am now... Panicking about what I am going to do as a DM.
By the way, I am giving you all fair warning now: I am a total thief and will steal any and every idea out there and put them into my game if it works for my campaign. I will tweak it slightly to help it fit, but seriously: Food mage has been put in, Crooks for Life is in, level 20 commoner (although he isnt that high in my game), as is that really dark (but really good) idea about the mage that takes kids and sends them into insanity, like the dark side. All happily stolen. All happily filling out my world.
