Or ladies...(I haven't seen anyone overtly female posting on these forums, but would love to hear about your experiences as a female DM if you're on here!) Do you sit or stand at your game table when D&D is In Session? I'll reveal my own answer later as an edit Edit: I guess its about time I revealed my answer to my own question: I pretty much always stand. I find that it helps keep me alert and lends a certain authority to the proceedings. Also makes me, as the DM, the center of attention. Not that I pine for the limelight; it can often be very easy to get distracted while waiting for one's turn at the game table. I like to command the space in order to make it easier to pull everyone back.

I'm probably the Antsyist person at the table ever! You can ask our wonderful hosts, I'll go from sitting to Standing to Sitting on the floor, to standing in the other room. I'm probably 50/50 Stand-Sit, Normally I'm seated during Combat where the Visuals of the Battle are relevant but when roleplay happens i'll move around and keep my Blood moving, this poll really should have room for at least 3 Checks.

It depends on how my day was. If I was overly active I will sit for most the night. If it wasn't very active I will stand for the majority of the night.

Mostly sitting, but it depends on the group.
At the Expeditions game I run, I get a lot of new players. I often stand during combat, so I can oversee their rolls, but the rest of the time I'm sitting. Also, the gaming table is enormous and I have all my DM stuff right in front of me -- laptop computer, books, minis/tokens, tiles, pens, dice, etc. I tend to draw the tactical map further than arm's reach from where I sit, so standing becomes a necessity when fighting.
At my home game, it's exclusively sitting. Everyone knows the system, so no overseeing rolls. The gaming table has drawers for all my accoutrements, and I have a side table to place my laptop, so there's nothing between me and the players.

Playing for only a few games I have not developed what exactly I do. Most of our games were done on a small table that could only fit half of us. So I lay on the floor or in a bean bag. I am not worried about cheeting since all of the other players are watching (quite intently) to the rolling of the other players. But once they are in battle I stand over them watching as they menuver their miniatures around the itty bitty table. I often feel like the fat roman rich man in the Roman shows. "Come hither players! Serve me!"

Both, depending on the situation.

I tend to sit more than stand because of having everything in one spot, but once combat starts it is very unlikely I will remain seated. Unless it has been crazy days leading up to it, or I am less prepared and need access to random tables then it's sitting, haha.

For the record, I don't hover over new players rolling dice because I suspect them of cheating. I do it because they suck at doing simple math on the fly, or just declare the die roll without modifiers like its the final result (and expect me to know their modifiers and account for it?!)
Also, they sometimes roll the completely wrong die. It's hard to put myself in the mindset of a person handling a dice set for the first time, as I picked up my first over 25 years ago. It's slightly incredible to me when they mix up the d12 and d20, or the d8 and d10, yet it happens a lot!

I've been sitting for most but have gotten into my characters a bit and been known to stand to act out what they are doing and saying

I sit. I use Fantasy Grounds. If I got up and moved around I would suddenly get yanked back due to my headset chord. Imagine a hound running at you then very suddenly reaching the end of his chain.

If I'm the DM I'm generally sitting in the recliner we have by our table. So obviously I sit most of the time. One exception is when I'm mapping out an encounter or moving pieces that are a bit out of reach in combat.
However, if I'm a player I'm a mixture depending on the situation. If it seems like I'm one of the few people paying attention I do it so that the other players see my interest and generally it helps to refocus the group(If you are a DM playing in a game you should always do your best to be a model player). I also do this if I am getting really into what is going on or if we are almost to my turn in combat and I realize I need to use the bathroom(this way I'm ready to move when my go ends so as to disrupt gameplay less).

I alternate between sitting and standing depending on what npc i am portraying and how excited I am.
