A few days late, but Acadecon 2016 had me distracted and out of state, but we are back! I figured that a great way to do this one would be to use magiccards.info/random.html and find some interesting cards that we could convert into spells for the world of Dayeimbe. That's that! Just stat out the card into a spell in whatever version you would like! 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. 9. 10. 11. 12. There we go! Excited to see what people come up, as some of these are a little out there and ambiguous.

Ooooh I am going to have to do this one! I love the idea of a magic-touched tactician character so this really connects w/ me. Contingency Plan: Spell Level: 5th Casting Time: 10 minute Ritual Components: V,S,M (a focus worth at least 1,000gp such as a crystal ball, a silver mirror, or a font filled with holy water) Upon completion of the ritual, the caster sees 2 life threatening moments that will befall them within the next 48 hours and may plan accordingly. Each vision is only one minute before the caster dies in the scene. If there are no life-threatening moments within the next 48 hours, the spell simply shows the caster nothing.

Dragon Mantle 4th-level Abjuration Casting Time: 1 reaction Range: Self Components: V, S, M (One dragon scale given willingly which is consumed upon casting) Duration: Instantaneous When you are subjected to a saving throw and fail, you may cast this spell as a reaction to gain 1 use of Legendary Resistance which allows you to succeed instead. edit: I changed to dragon scale given willingly mainly because I liked this spell as an actual dragon granting some sort of gift as opposed to simply killing a dragon, plundering a couple hundred scales, ect.

I really like this one. I think the description could be a lot of fun. My only slight hesitancy is giving a full minute of their death scene. I only say that because of how much battle time that would represent. That could potentially be the length of an entire boss battle. I also love that it spells out the potential of death, and allows you as the DM to better understand the thoughts of your PCs.

Future Sight, Contingency Plan & Breaking Point look like heavy metal album covers! Annul Spell Level : 2nd Cleric/Wizard Casting Time : 1 Action Range : 30ft. Duration : Concentration, but maximum of Hour/level. Components : S,M By carving mystic runes in the air the caster removes magic from 1 Item within 30ft for the duration. Artifacts get a Saving throw but all other magic items do not. This only works on enchanted objects and will not reverse flesh to stone or wall of stone. This spell does not alter anyones memory above the items function or existence. Items like floating magical castles or warded magic doors are treated as Artifacts in that they do get a Saving throw.

Reminisce 4th-level Divination Casting Time: 1hr, ritual Range: target of ritual Components: V, S, M (three candles infused with the casters magical energy. a paste made out of yarrow root, ground bumpelkin horn, milk of belladonna and honey.) Duration: 1 hr
This ritual is done by first creating a ritual array depicting the past, present and future with a candle in each of the points, the ritual target then consumes the paste and lies down in the middle of the array before the caster starts the chant. This ritual is used to explore the targets past, unearthing forgotten memories or even memories that have been blocked. Note: Magically blocked memories may be hard to unblock and may harm the target and the caster. The caster and the target are unconcious as they explore the memories.

I was debating making it one to two rounds, but I figured this would give you the opportunity to describe something like an ambush where you give them a glimpse of where they are headed into prior to being run through. We could potentially make it vague and just a "a brief scene ending in the character's death" that way it is up to the DM to decide.

It is drawn to every magical item within the maps vicinity in equal measure creating more notable spots where there are more magical items. The map can then be used as the foci of other divination spells that are cast.

I almost want to have a set distance simply to be more clear what the 'area' is but otherwise I like the imagery of it as well as using it as a foci for further divination spells.

No one has tried this one yet so I will give it a go: Breaking Point: 5th-level Evocation Casting time: 1 reaction Range: 15ft radius centered on caster Components: V (Language prerequisite: A shout of pain and rage in Infernal or Draconic at an enemy that strikes you), S Casting Time: Instantaneous You've learned to channel your anger into the very Weave around you. When wielders of knives and blades attempt to harm you, the Weave defends you by burning the fools away. Upon taking damage that is equal to your total level in a single round, you may expend your reaction to deal 8d8 fire damage and all creatures within a 15ft radius make a DEX saving throw against your spell save DC. On a failed save, all creatures within the blast take full damage and get knocked back 10ft, or half damage and no knock back on a successful save. Being centered in the inferno, the caster takes 1/4 of the damage rolled.

Blightning is a completely amazing reskin of Lightning Bolt. I know what the first new spell I'm going to pick for my wizard is. Necromancers for the win.

Reminisce 4th Level Divination (ritual)Casting Time: 10 min Range: Self Components: V, S, M (dropplets of ink and a blank parchment) Duration: Instantaneous You reach through time to when you last prepared your spells. Touching your mind in the state it was once in you once again are ready to perform those magics. You recover all 1st level spell slots that you have expended. At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 5th level or higher, you regain all the spell slots from one level higher for each slot level above 4th. Regaining all 2nd level spell slots when cast at 5th level and so on. Each casting of this spell only effects only one level of spell slots.

Trail of Mystery 4th-level Illusion Cast time: instant Target: 5ft behind you Components: V,S,M(seeds, dirt, magic thread) Duration: 5 minutes
This spell alters the area behind you by weaving a new path and creating plants that hide the direction you went. From the new path comes a mixture of sensory effects (the sound of coin jingling, perfume/cologne, delicious food, etc...). Those tricked by the illusion can't decipher the rush of sensation and are compelled to follow the path. A wisdom save vs the caster negates effects.
