I figure I'll take this opportunity to share some of my homebrew races, and I'll start with the half-dryads. The clildren of humans and the seductive tree women.
Physically I'd have them look like fey peoples or elves, probably closest to half-elves but with the sign of their mother's heritage as leafy hair that changes color as the seasons pass. I'm thinking most closely they'd look like the dryads from Ravnica.
The half-dryads socially are the most like half-elves, but instead of diplomats they are best fitted as gardeners, working on edge between forests and cities.
Ability Score Increase. Your Charisma score increases by 1, and your Wisdom score increases by 2
Age. Half-Dryads grow like trees, though they may grow quickly, once they hit maturity their aging slows to a crawl. A half-dryad can live for hundreds of years, the oldest have hit 300.
Alignment. Half-Dryad's tend to embrace the "laws" of nature over the laws of man and favor true neutrality.
Size. Medium
Speed. Your base walking speed is 30 feet.
Mask of the Wild. You can attempt to hide even when you are only lightly obscured by foliage, heavy rain, falling snow, mist, and other natural phenomena.
Tree Magic. You know the druidcraft cantrip. When you reach 4th level, you can cast the spells entangle and goodberry once per day. When you reach 5th level you can also cast the spell barkskin once per day. Charisma is your spellcasting ability for these spells.
Speak with Beasts and Plants. You can communicate with beasts and plants as if they shared a language
Fey Ancestry. You have advantage on saving throws against being charmed, and magic can't put you to sleep.
Languages. You can speak, read and write Common and Sylvan.
