Hello, I private messaged the DM block, and they referee me to all of you nice people although I am not sure this is what they had in mind! I am looking for a Dungeon Masters Mentor, as a brand new DM leading a brand new group of rather excited adventurers, I am quickly discovering the joys and pains of running a d&d geoup, and we don't start actual play for a couple of weeks yet! As such I am looking for someone who would be willing g to be a sounding board, voice of reason, and font of knowledge for this new and clearly in over his head DM ideally this would consist of a couple emails per week in which my mentor would point out potential flaws in my prep, and maybe a limited amount of twitter PMs. I do not intend to take advantage of this relationship, but simply need someone to answer specific, basic questions without me having to spend hours scouring the internet. I am 32 years old and am looking for a mature, knowledgeable player who will enable me to tell my story to my friends. Thanks for your consideration, V

Honestly, I think posting here on the forums would be your best method of getting a set of advice and a variety of perspectives that would allow you ti be able to pick and choose what works best for you and your players. At the end of the day you will be the only one that really knows the nuances of yourself and your group. If posting to the forums doesn't work I'm also down for being a sounding board whenever you need.

Totally agree with the above, Vyrl. These forums are crazy helpful. And, if there is anything you want help with, you are more than welcome to message me.
Probably the best advice though, is that DMing is kinda about being in over your head. I can't think of a single time I felt like I had it all under control, knew the answer to every question my players had, or ran an entire session without screwing something up. #whywedoit

Ever need info just message me man. And yeah, messing up is the fruit of what we do. If we didnt have the players pull the wool over our eyes and make us run blind for a while, we would never bump into the random fun we always have.
