Hey-o!
I'm excited to be joining the forums. I found out about the DMB a few months back when I was starting a new campaign and looking for resources to improve my Dungeon Mastering. I looked around a bit before someone suggested the DMB and I binged through most of the episodes pretty quickly.
My first experience with D&D was about three years ago. A friend that I did improv with was starting a new campaign (4E) and invited me to play, but scheduling conflicts were the bane of our game's existence. It died out after about three weeks.
It was only last year that I got back into tabletop gaming. My family and then-girlfriend teamed up to get me the three core rulebooks and I gathered some friends for a game. That one lasted slightly longer than my first, but schedules got in the way again. That was sometime in the Summer.
In April of this year, I got the tabletop itch, jumped back in and started two new campaigns, both taking place simultaneously in the same home-brewed world. The DMB has inspired tons of ideas and has helped me execute ones I already had. Those campaigns are still running as of now, but it looks like one of them might be wrapping up in September.
The character I played in my first (and only) campaign as a player was an Elf Wizard, but I've developed a fondness towards Gnomes and Half-Elves as of late. Bards have a special place in my heart but the Warlock is a close second for my favorite 5E class. I think the idea of pacts lends itself to incredible backstories.
I live in California and outside of D&D, I work in insurance and do improv, sketch and stand-up at a local comedy club. A friend of mine and I are writing a play inspired by D&D but that's going to be in the works for a looong while.
All of that to say I'm happy to be here! These forums seem like they're made up of awesome people. See you around!
