One of my PC has had some major charterer development in the last week or two (which is really great) and is starting to come down with 'Dragon Sickness' Think Thoron Oaknsheild from the end of the Hobbit. But instead of gold she is lusting after dragon scales. She is also getting blood lust as she enjoys killing things-a little too much maybe. The player and I have chatted and are both on the same page about this direction and there will be consequences and such. We have decided on a 10 point system for each. Currently she only has 1 point. We also decided that 1-4 points will just be RP flavor and choice making. We have already changed her alignment from Neutral to Chaotic Neutral (this made perfect sense story wise)
I'm looking for ideas for what starts to happen form 5-10 points. We have chatted about starting to loose points in Wisdom but I would like some other things as well. But also some bonuses that might happen. Because hunting dragons and killing people and such would also allow your skills to improve.
Also its gonna get super interesting when her campaign get a dragon campaign.

Permanently loosing stats could be a rough road to go down as it may be difficult to balance what is gained that doesn't seem like it is too overpowered. If they are trading a stat they don't use for one they do, it may make the character too powerful. For the bloodlust I would lean towards the mechanical use of rage similar to the barbarian, but make it something that isn't controlled. Maybe they need to make a Wisdom check that gets progressively more difficult, but the rage they fly into becomes more powerful. There could also be a Wisdom check to stop the rage or they continue to attack everything living. When it comes to dragons they could be fervent about always going to attack more and find more no matter the cost, but that is fairly RP in nature. If you really wanted a mechanical aspect you could do Wisdom checks during combat, or even before to fight dragons, and so on. I love the RP aspect, how is it going, or how do you think it will go with the other characters at the table?

It just started. So the rest of the party hasn't had a chance to react. Basically we just had our 'Season Finale' session this weekend (we have to take break for a while bc of life) Our Ranger was dominated by a lich and just a small part of the lich has stayed in her brain. It is going to fester and cause the Dragon Sickness. I know the player is totally down with it. I know some of the other players are as well. We have had a chat about this and other charterer development. How the PC act will depend on several factors but on the whole they will go with it for a bit and probably discover it to soon be a problem and then set out on a quest to solve it. What ever that might be.
Because it was the Season Finale, I have tasked them all with a short write up of there PC thoughts and feelings and changes (1-2 Paragraphs no big. But I know some will write more) so at least all the players know what is happening in the PC's heads. And so I know as well. My group is pretty good at not Meta gaming.
Wisdom checks sound really good I hadn't thought about that. The Rage is also a great idea. Ooooo I love both of those!!!! She wouldn't PERMANENTLY loose them. Well she would but there would be a chance for redemption. Cus redemption quests are fun too.
I'm most excited to see what happens when a Dragon joins the party. That will really be an interesting turn of events
