I am currently working on my first home-brew campaign that a major component of it is based on the Watergate Scandal of the 1970s. It's beautiful; there's espionage, backstabbing, twists, turns, and the like. It fun and it's sometimes mind boggling how certain real life events played out better then if they were written. With that said, I'm curious what historical events, if any, that have intrigued or inspired others. Here are a couple I've also considered: - Wojtek - The Polish War Bear. During WWII he was used to carry ammunition to the troops in the battlefield. Just imagine firing at your enemy and then seeing they have a BEAR on their team.
- Soviet Tank Dogs - Possibly a myth but apparently the soviets trained dogs to carry explosives on their backs during WWII to run under tanks and BOOM. The only problem was they were trained with Russian tanks so... you get the idea.
How about anyone else? Anything you've stumbled across that you have used or plan to in an upcoming campaign?
