So, about me, I'm a twenty year old Engineering student who studies at the Missouri University of Science and Technology. At MST I am studying Geological Engineering which if your are unfamiliar with is basically about using knowledge of the earth to solve engineering problems whether that is ground integrity, where the oil is, and so on.
How did I start playing DnD? Well starting at age 14(back when I lived in springfield IL) I got a summer job as a Camp councilor in Training at a place called Camp Bunn in Hettic IL(pop. 200 counting dogs). There I met my first DM Eli. We became fast friends and one day he mentioned to me that he played DnD and maybe we could start up a game. My immediate response was a resounding "yes please". So we set about getting some players together. We quickly recruited 5 other staffers to join our cause(6 total a larger party) however with work it was difficult for Eli to have time to help people make characters. So after I made mine I asked him if I could help out(I couldn't take any more waiting). So, me being a first time player myself, read the 3e phb character creation section and helped my fellow players at least to start their characters while Eli was working.
That campaign didn't last long and after a few nights the group dissolved. The next tear we all came back to work and some of the old people as well as some new people came together to form a new group. With that group I fought dragons, killed Hydras, and prevented an army of Kobold Cultists from taking over a nation.
That campaign went on during the year and into the next summer even though we all lived far apart while not at camp. I forgot to mention, I was a half-elf Ranger and have ever since been a fan of skill/slasher classes like rangers and rouges.
When I got to college I made a group of good friends. We played a little Rouge Trader and then my friend Eli(different one but here comes the irony) offered to DM a 4e game (two different DM's named Eli...) that lasted a few nights and fell apart quickly(he was a new DM). Then a month or so later we started a pathfinder game that lasted until this year. One which I co-DMed because Eli realized he didn't enjoy DMing that much and ask if I'd take over some times.
Then, this year(as in school year) I started my first formal campaign as a DM(5e).
Non-dnd facts about me are that I love watching TV and movies and have found that there are very few things I can't sit through and enjoy in some way. I play a lot of video games as well and specifically enjoy stealth games such as payday 2 and Dishonored. Other then that I split my time between DMing, eating, sleeping, studying, and classes.
I'm going to post some lore about my world sometime soon in the world creation forum sometime soon so look out for that. Other then that thanks for reading, especially if you read all of my ramblings about getting introduced to DnD.

Edit: forgot to mention two things.
First the thing that brought me to the forums was that I emaield The DM's block and when DM mitch answered my question he told me about the forums so here I am. Also I've been on the forum for almost a month now sorry for not introducing myself sooner.
