DM Nate did the Bilbo Baggins by trying to pick-pocket... and created an awesome story from it!
Upgradable magic items could be awesome and I absolutely love the idea (especially in the instance that was mentioned in the Mailbag). I get a lot of interesting ideas from the Final Fantasy series as a whole.
So, when I was learning about storytelling, especially in the writing context, my professor had a strict opinion about "Writer's Block" when it came to short stories. That this "Block" was just a form of laziness. Now, I am not saying that I personally believe that, but whenever the subject pops up, I do think back on those days and wonder if that is partially true? Interesting to think about...
Bringing the Magic of Magic to D&D! Can someone play Magic after that, without thinking of all the poor souls you have imprisoned by yourself?

In a recent campaign, our dm tried to do upgradeable items using the weapons of legacy book. Definitely made some unique items customized for the characters.
Also, is there a mailbag section in the forums?

is there a mailbag section in the forums? There isn't, however if you or someone else wanted to send me a direct message on the forums with a question, story or idea and place a little #Mailbag after it, I will make sure it gets to the right people...

I think you can pick up a campaign after months away. I plan on doing it. I stopped for football season and as soon as superbowl is done i will be starting it up again.
I think if you just have a record of what was done to refresh everyone then you can just jump back in. Maybe first session be remembering but after that should be riding a bike.

I did actually think he was talking about that until he said "he" and "other equipment" All i could think of was the cartoons that make fun of the Zelda mistake.
