Here is an idea for a campaign: all the players are Mind of the Star's Paladin Vampires who are venturing to find the cure for their Vampirism (and, as we have seen in Elder Scrolls, that is not an easy quest). I really like this order and this this was a great discussion with Mainprize, Joat, and Paladin Caleb!

Or what if the players are just vampires searching for this cure and finds out about this order after searching through librarys and tombs? I have to admit I got a little smug smile when listening to this episode.
Hurog the reformed troll reminds me a little bit of a story I read about a troll (or an ogre?) that found a magical weapon that had the spirit of a paladin imbued in it, the paladin taught the something the good about the light side. And that got me thinking, Trey Dovin is sure to have had items that perhaps got blessed by Pelor, what if one of them has turned sentient and got lost and found by Hurog?

EDIT:
Found the story: Except its a ogre!

Man alive! I LOVE everything about your post frohtastic. You have definitely found the origin story of Hurog without a doubt!
