Hello DMs Here is what i have come up with for Beast-Folk races for 5e for my own world. Feel free to add, tweak, comment and give me on these ideas. Beast Folk Ideas PDFAgain I am a very new DM and this is just the ideas I came up with. Would love feedback or ideas. In my world the beast folk exist in the earliest ages of the world and near the time of more traditional fantasy races they are all but extinct.

I really like these because they are relatively mild in terms of bonuses, but that lends itself to more lore than just taking them for min/max reasons. I think that the maturity age should be bumped up a little to give more time for learning the ways of the world. I fear that with such a quick turn around it may lend itself to thinking the creature is more basic. Another idea on that is the age of races based on class. i.e. being a barbarian could happen early, but a more learned class like wizard would take longer to learn. I would definitely go with Bison Folk!

Awesome Ideas, I will give the maturing ages another pass some of them do seem pretty quick. I tried to base it in the animal kingdom of earth that has most animals maturing much faster than humans. But looking at it from a story aspect I see your point and will think about it. Thanks for the feedback!

Great stuff! (ie: I'm stealing)
Can you slap these in a PDF? I really need to start doing that for my Tribality articles.

Beast Folk Ideas PDFAlso finished up my some of the other races I hadn't put into this post. Those races were Lizard Folk(subraces of Chameleon and Spiked/Horny) and Bird Folk(subraces of Raven and Eagle). Enjoy.

I like the new additions, but still would likely go with the bison folk and make him a druid with a native American vibe.

O ya, Bison folk are very awesome. I have a guy who wants to play as a Chameleon folk which would be tons of fun.

Would be some awesome roleplay opportunities. Then again a decked out fighter hiding places seems like fun as well.

It would be awesome to have a campaign where the players only played anthro-beast folk. It could be Redwall in D&D!

I once had the opportunity to play in a one shot campaign that we all played small or tiny creatures. Many of us were anthropomorphic beastfolk. I played a mousling, named Roquefort. We had a rabbitfolk, a pixie and some sort of beetle thing. It was a great time, a lot of fun. So I agree a Redwall type game would be fun!

I played a mousling, named Roquefort. Why do mice make awesome adventurers? They just seem heroic don't they? (Well... unless, of course, if they are in your house). Plus, Roquefort is a cool name.

You're actually making me want to run an anthropomorphic game. A friend ran a Fantasy Hero one decades ago and it was a ton of fun. The party included an anthro cat druid that used to create hilarious spells, like "Wall of Birds"--an ablative Force Wall. He'd yell out "Birds of the forest, Protect Me!"

Ya an all anthro campaign would be so cool. Really working on my anthro races and their role in my world! cant wait to see what my players choose. Also My wife is one of my current players and she saw me posting awesome underwater D&D ideas and pictures of merfolk on pinterest and is now begging me for an underwater campaign so. I have you to thank for that!
