So, I have been hesitant to jump in and let people know that I'm the one who's working on drawing this world map. But, this weekend I picked up a WACOM tablet... at a garage sale... for $1. !!! I'm so geeked that I couldn't contain myself. I've never worked with one before, but I'm so excited to try it. I expect it will help my mapmaking significantly. I'm gonna send you a pm too, Maxi. I'd love for you do some editing to make sure that the world map is relatively feasible given the way that geography actually works. I'm hoping to have something to show y'all by the end of the week! Do eet bud! Yeah I need to look out for something like that too so I can do my drawings via digital....that would make things WAY EASIER!

wtf, for one money?Who in their right minds would sell a wacom tablet for 1 money... It was a church garage sale, and they collect donations from throughout the community. All the proceeds go to missions, so they try to raise money by making the prices on stuff super cheap. Also, it's run by a bunch of blue-haired ladies... I'm not sure anyone would have known what it was.

What's this broken iThing? Don't know, price it at a dollar. Haha. The cat is out, and I'm super excited to see the map work that you both produce!!

Alright, peeps. Here's a little teaser. I'm especially excited because having the Wacom allows me to make my own map features, rather than using someone else's stamps (not that there's anything wrong with that; I've made lots of maps that I'm proud of with other people's icons). So, for example, I can make mountain ranges that actually fit where I want them. Like these. <teaser> </teaser> I'm thinking I'd like to spend a little more time making it look really good, rather than just trying to knock it out and be done with it. Are y'all cool with waiting a little longer for a finished map? Or would you prefer I just got something done so we have something decent to work from, then go back and make it look really nice?

Looks sharp man! Wacom rocks. I draw in a similar style and know the feeling when you hit that point where the things you want to build come together. Now that I can draw mountains and forests etc, I have a lot of trouble with the open areas and what do draw there.

For me I think taking more time to make it better is the best plan. That way you are more proud of it, and we get to heap even more praise on you for your awesome work. I'm happy and sad about that teaser. Happy because it looks amazing! Sad because it's only a teaser, haha. However, I will happily wait for the full Dayeimbe epic map of awesome!!

puts anything I do to shame! Wish I could do that!
Also I have started work on the city that Joatmoniac pm'd me info on. Its been rough trying to make time for it but I am getting bits and pieces done here and there. Hoping that it turns out to be something everyone enjoys!

That's fantastic! A lot of the fun for me is the process it's self. I'm in no hurry to see the entire world finished up. I don't know what the vision is, but I would imagine this is a continuing work in progress for a long long time as more and more content stuff is created by members - so I would say take time with the map so that we have an awesome background for that content!

Alright, probably the final teaser before I wrap this monstrosity up. This is hands down the biggest and most detailed map I've ever done. I still have probably a couple more hours worth of work to do to clean it up and put in all the finishing details, but this is the direction I'm leaning for the cities. I wanted to post this one first because, collaboration.

This all looks super awesome and I'm definitely jealous of how impressive this map work is. Any chance for tips and tricks when you've completed it? That'd be awesome, but I wouldn't want you to have to CONTINUE working after all the work you've done already.

Such amazing work being done.
