This is turning out to be an awesome order! Here! Here! I certainly agree, I think it would be awesome to RP in this order. I wonder if some of the more fanatical members of the Order would only deal with unseen threats. Perhaps, if he sees an obvious threat that isn't directly endangering him, the fanatic would leave it to "the other Paladins". ...#11?

I could definitely see the more fanatical, stronger, and higher ranking members leaving the sanctuary of the cathedral to deal with important and pressing "threats". I also can definitely see this order being bottom-heavy. Having more members of lower rank and potency, and being the standard "Hey you, go do this!". Those who prove their ability and faith advance through the ranks and are sent on more important tasks that are sometimes more dangerous. There is a lot I could see this group doing!

I really like the potential for walking the line into corruption that the order could run. The DM has a lot of options with this

I was thinking about rank symbols. How about the lowest rank is a comet and the next rank is a two tailed comet and so on until they get to 5 tails then it becomes a sun with 5 rays and a new ray is added at you go up in rank. dungeonsandtulu.wordpress.com/

Updated with the new info that Caleb and I came up with as well as new stuff from the thread! What if Mahazael (Ma-ha-za'el ? ) actually was a good aligned vampire king and was corrupted by something completely different, but slowly. This could cement why Neg'Thul (Who I imagined as an Orc / Half-Orc) betrayed him, because Mahazael did something that made certain that his soul was well and truly lost. This could make it so that the players can see it from two different ways, through the Order way of interaction (aka be "good" and battle against "evil") or through being underlings of Neg'Thul investigating what happened. And since we're DND we might as well go the cliche way of saying that its either a magical artifact or something like that that corrupted Maha, and he could not well and truly be defeated which is why the order is still ongoing. Also, what about magical enforced tattoo runes on the ones they dont trust? like if you do something wrong, BAM divine energy. and what about equipment that would make it easier for the dark beings to go around during the day?

With the release of dayimbe's timeline / era, at what era could we possible put the creation of the order and the silent battle with the vampire lord?
With the gods losing their domains and gaining new ones this could affect on how divine spells affect undead. Thoughts? Edit: What if Pelor gained the domains of Light, healing and Death ?
