Fortunately we're not locked into one design. I usually have a "default" design for most things that I modify for the client's specs. In this case though, I have the sense that each toolbox will be entirely custom. So one box might come out at $40 if the client just wants a really nice dice box with space for a few minis and the next might be $100 if the client wants to store their whole kit in one spot. That presents some challenges for creating a listing in Etsy but in terms of building the boxes it only increases the amount of drafting that needs to be done (which is perfectly fine).

One of our fellow block-heads was shiny enough to give me an opportunity to build a second toolbox from scratch. I think it's a definite improvement over the first prototype and there's a full write-up (with pictures) hereI'm curious how a really small box, maybe just for a party's minis, might turn out but it'll have to wait for awhile. I'm smack in the middle of the busiest time of year for this business but maybe I'll get a chance to do some prototyping in Feb.

I've been meaning to comment on this for awhile, but this toolbox is awesome! I was hoping to take some pictures with stuff in it, but life has kept me busy and so I finally wanted to at least come give a shout out to Tesla for doing an amazing job. My players are all impressed, and it fits everything I need right in the box.
I'll get some pictures up soon!

Thanks, Vulash! That also reminded me that I still needed to create an actual listing on my shop for the Toolbox. Now that that's been done I can start taking more regular orders for them. I'd like to develop a smaller variant, probably on the order of 4 x 8", to bring it back into the $40-60 range and I'll be looking for an opportunity to do that. I'm also hoping to make a listing for Markers and Tokens but first I have to figure out what the "standard" assortment of tokens would look like. Probably a mix of 3-D printed and leather parts...

Wait till you see what's currently on the draft board. My back of the napkin math suggests I've been drawing the draft for the past ~19 hours and it's still got a long way to go. It's D&D-related and utterly glorious. I'm all kinds of eager to see the final result.

Somehow I missed posting this map over here once it was finished. Probably because I shipped it the day before flying down to TX for PAX South. So here's a belated picture and link of this badass map: www.fosterleathercraft.com/2016/01/the-glorious-dragon-map.htmlMeanwhile I've been cranking out a few things in the past couple weeks I thought ya'll might like. There were two of the DM Toolboxes: www.fosterleathercraft.com/2016/03/double-party-dm-toolbox.htmlwww.fosterleathercraft.com/2016/03/yin-yang-dragon-toolbox.htmlAnd I've been working on prototypes for dice cups: www.fosterleathercraft.com/2016/02/prototype-dice-cup.htmlI finished the second prototype for the dice cup yesterday afternoon. I'm rather liking the versatility for the design. And they double as a dice bag and rolling case all in one. If I'm rolling more than one dice there's this grand rattling noise that's hard not to take glee in. Even better they're honing in on a price point of $36. I still have a little work to do to hone in the geometry but I expect to have them up on the shop soon. And I'm still working on markers/tokens. I figured status/condition chips and initative tokens probably weren't enough on their own so I've been working on spell effect (like a 3D printed Bigby's Hand) and some monster tokens (like an ooze that breaks up into smaller and smaller identical bits). And next week I have an order to adapt the toolbox into a binder. Still waiting on some hardware for that one but I'm looking forward to seeing how it comes out.

Oh Tesla Ranger you crazy amazing person you! You are trying to take away all my money! That map is absolutely stunning. I stared at that picture for minutes before moving on to the other amazing items. Love seeing the stuff you make, and can't wait to see more! More exclamation points to express my excitement!!

My god those are beautiful!
Regarding Dice cups, how hard (or easy?) would it be to make one that is more dice shaped? If it wasn't too tricky I reckon people would snap up a D20 shaped Dice cup/bag!

Depends on the die. A d4 or d6 would be drop-dead simple but an icosahedron has 20 sides and 30 "seams" that all have to line up just so. It could probably work structurally but the labor to stitch all those seams might move it beyond an cost-effective price point. It'd be interesting to try it out someday if I get the chance!
