Razor kelp sounds awesome, especially with his ability to move the currents and force players into it.
Undead clams makes me lol, but my character wouldn't be so giggly once they clamped down on him!

All merrow bear Demogorgan’s special touch, madness, to one extent or another. Isperixatl was considered a renegade in the Kingdom of Coral Spines long before he was known as the Rider of the Plaguetide. To him the merfolk and merrow were estranged families that needed to be reunited. His was very vocal about the integration of both societies into one. King Xixchalt, Isperixatl’s uncle, was not amused by these heretical ideas. Xixchalt believed the merfolk, at best, were slaves. But King Xixchalt knew he could use his nephew’s naiveté and allowed Isperixatl to arrange peace negotiations with the merfolk of the Chasm of Gems.
The negotiations were going extremely well. Isperixatl believed there would be peace between the merfolk and the merrow for the first time by the end of the next tide. Then disaster struck. King Xixchalt’s duplicity was revealed as his elite shock troops, Tide Harpoons, slaughtered the entire delegation of merfolk as Battalions of the Chasm of Gems attacked the Kingdom of Coral Spines. His dreams were shattered as the merfolk and merrow went to war.
Isperixatl was devastated by betrayal of both the merfolk and the merrow. His continued attempts to broker peace were for naught. Eventually, King Xixchalt tired of his nephew’s attempts at peace and sent the Tide Harpoons persuade Isperixatl to keep his peace. Isperixatl struggled desperately against the Tide Harpoon and managed to escape, though grievously wounded. He fled the Kingdom of Coral Spines into darkest and deepest parts of the ocean. The first few weeks of his flight there were several close encounters with Tide Harpoons, sharks, and other dangers of the deep. Eventually, he spied an area of complete stillness on the ocean floor. This was the clearest water he had ever seen, despite the fact the ocean floor of this still zone was covered in rotting vegetation and flesh. There wasn’t any current to stir the debris off the floor. Curious, Isperixatl entered the Calm as he had started to call it in his mind. The calm must have had a diameter of two miles. At the center, he found a book made up of blackened metal plates.
Reclining in the decay of the Calm, Isperixatl read the metal plates. It was as if this book was meant for him. It made everything so clear. It was his destiny. It connected him to greatest source of all inspiration. Greater than even Demogorgan; for Demogorgan cared not for the fate of the merrow or the merfolk. But Orcus did. Isperixatl knew he would unite the merrow and merfolk in Orcus. They would be united in undeath and he would be their king. The King of the Rotting Depths.
Some questions I have not answered: 1. What are the plates made of? What is the title of the book? What is its history? 2. How did the plates change Isperixatl? Physically? mentally? 3. Does Isperixatl have any other item of interest?
