Man, what a great episode! Easily one of my favorites, as heist movies are among the all-time greats! Oceans-11 is amazing, but my all-time fav? HEAT! I can just imagine the PCs glimpsing their foil/nemesis as they exit cleanly, then all hell breaks loose. The Evoker wizard(s) just lighting up the village in their escape. If you've never seen it, you're missing out. Inception is one of my favorite heist movies that, incidentally, a lot of people don't recognize as a heist movie. It follows the formula exactly, though.
Also, I think a heist is one of the best scenarios for a one-shot.

I really enjoyed this episode as well, and agree with you DMC that Heat is one of the best heist movies out there. It is almost impossible to watch that movie and not want to be part of a heist! There is of course the classic gem that is getting a terrible remake, Point Break!
I also like the idea of having the heist being a one shot so that things can become completely off the rails. That way the stakes can be very high, and the one shot could be tons of fun without the players actually being successful. You could easily allow for the The Dark Knight style of robbery with its string of double crosses and murders. Good times all around!

This was a great episode. I was Suprised how much I wanted to do a heist campaign.

pathfinder ultimate intrigue coming out early 2016 has heist rules according to paizo.

Haven't listened to this episode in a long time, but my favorite of the maybe 3 heist movies that I've seen is easily Now You See Me.
4 thieves, each one a magician, pull off 3 heists in the movie, and outright tell the FBI when and where they are going to hit the 3rd time.
That makes me want to play a rogue who does real-world stage magic and pulls a heist on a wizard's tower.
The best line from NYSM that works beautifully as something the rogue would say to a wizard: "First rule of magic: always be the smartest man in the room."
