For a few days now I've been kicking ideas around in my brain for worlds, and also for "The Ultimate Module." And what I mean by that is a fully constructed open-world sandbox style game world featuring a large and highly detailed world map, NPCs, dungeons, etc. suitable for any players of any level. Rich histories, new pantheons, nations, guilds, monsters, and encounter tables.
Obviously the only way something like this would ever work is through the power of crowdsourcing. I haven't started any work on this world yet, and I would never consider it "mine" just because I sparked it. It wouldn't even really surprise me if someone out there is already doing this, or something like it. So I'm wondering if anyone would like to embark on this crazy ambitious project with me, and if so, what the best way would be to do it. I'm thinking that the best bet would be to do some kind of wiki or something, but I know nothing about starting and managing wikis.
So, is anyone interested, or this just a terrible idea? Or an idea that's too awesome to actually happen?
