This is a spell I made (I am sure there are many others similar to it) and tweaks have been made with my current DM. This is the current iteration. Very similar to the Singularity from Mass Effect.
Name: Gravity Well
School: Evocation
Level: 6th level
Range: 120 ft (90 ft for 2, 60 ft for 3)
Components: V, S, M (We haven't actually come up with the material components yet.)
Duration: Instantaneous
The spell caster creates 1 to 3 points of magic called a Gravity Well. The Gravity Well pulls creatures and loose objects towards it. The radius of the Gravity Well depends on how many Wells are created. Each creature within the radius of the Gravity Well makes a Strength Saving throw. On a successful save a target takes half damage but suffers no other effects. On a failed save, the target is pulled half the distance toward the center of the Gravity Well from the target's current location (minimum of 5 ft) and takes Force Damage depending on the number of Gravity Wells created.
1 Gravity Well - has a 30 ft radius and does 12d4 Force damage.
2 Gravity Wells - each Well has a 10 ft radius and does 6d4 Force damage.
3 Gravity Wells - each Well has a 5 ft radius and does 4d4 Force damage.
This spell does not affect buildings with foundations, trees, plants, or solid stone, however, anything loose such as tents, leaves, rocks, and other objects are affected. If an object is destroyed, it is crushed under the weight of the force damage. Magical objects are not damaged by this spell.
The Gravity Well remains until the beginning of the caster's next turn. Any creature entering it for the first time on a turn or ending their turn there is affected. Any creature failing the save finds the zone difficult terrain.
When a 7th level spell slot or higher is used to cast this spell, the duration of the spell increases by 1d4 rounds per higher spell slot used. Any ranged weapon attacks that start from or go through any lingering Gravity Well are done so at disadvantage.
