Of course you all realize that I am staring at you blankly like a zombie barista because you didn't preface your vanilla bean with grande or tall with an extra shot.

Sorry, that was my just my sense of humor. I always forget that it doesn't come off right in text form, lol!
Although, 10+ years of service industry have left me with a deep well of unreconciled rage. It occasionally pops up unwanted. At least we weren't talking about music. That record store clerk sarcasm is the most biting of all.

I too was a record store clerk... in the 80s... so I understand your pain.

Jokes are often lost in translation... And that was another joke...

Yeah, iTunes and Spotify are killing the breed. Not sure if that's good or bad; on the good side, consumers don't have to deal with condescending music snobs as the gatekeepers for their music; on the bad side, now anyone can be a condescending music snob, so there's more total music snobs out there.
Sorry for being such a snarky barrista/record store clerk/waiter/etc. I still wait tables on the weekends. I think if I had to do it full time, I'd probably never leave my house and never talk to anyone. Fortunately, my full time job involves wearing headphones and working in CAD software all day. So I can still interact with people in the evenings without wanting to stab anyone's eyes out for no good reason.
I swear, I'm not really a violent sociopath. I just play one on the weekends.

I'm happy to have never worked in true retial. Working in a helpdesk for a university though definitely tarnished my faith in the human race at times. Things like "if I could get you to go to your desktop." "I don't have a desktop, I have a laptop!" Or "fixing" a printer by putting paper in, surprise it doesn't magically come from there! Now I maintain the online courses so more headphones and far less interaction with others, haha. I always try to be as nice as possible to people when in retail because I can only imagine the people they have dealt with that day. Also, I have a tendency to buy my records online for the reasons stated above, haha.

I hate calling tech support for anything because I am not stupid and I've already tried all the easy stuff (reboot, paper, wires, etc.). If I'm calling tech support, its because all the easy stuff failed. I try to be very kind and patient for those folks though. They don't know I'm not an idiot! I decided many years ago that, no matter which side of the counter/transaction I'm on, I would always acknowledge the humanity of all involved. The thing that puts so much rage in my heart is being treated like a non-person or a vending machine. We're all people here; you want to have a nice sit-down dinner and a couple beers, I want to make money bringing you those things. None of that means we can't make eye contact, or chat a sec, or say HELLO , WHY DO THEY ALL HATE ME! I'M JUST TRYING TO MAKE SOME MONEY! LET ME TELL YOU WHERE YOU CAN SHOVE YOUR 10% TIP YOU &@$#^%*@$#%*!!

Hawk, I'm really sorry for completely derailing your perfectly reasonable thread about D&D. That being said, given the direction this conversation has gone: www.youtube.com/watch?v=TMZkukOB8IgEdit: This video is NSFW due to language. Be warned.

Nice! Passive aggressive, annoying singing while washing dishes works as well. "Why the *#&^ does that guy keep SINGING tainted love every time they open the !&^/#*! Kitchen door!??"
