So I was a huge fan of "Sons of Anarchy" and I am currently watching the spinoff "Mayans" and was thinking of trying g to come up with an equivalent in D&D, but really dont know where to start. I am thinking Dwarves on rams or goats for one gang, but would love help fleshing out the rest.

What other races are you contemplating?
Any more setting info? Terrain? Urban or rural? fantastical or low fantasy? This could be a great DMNastics!

I think it would definitely be high fantasy. I would like to use gnomes and humans for sure and maybe the 'evil' gang of orcs, goblins, kobolds, etc. Not sure about elves.
Not really so much urban as I a city, but a small town or village for each group. Maybe even a few are nomadic.
All my ideas seem to die a begi ming ideas. I can not really ever seem to flesh out my ideas once on paper and if I do not write it down it just consumes my thoughts...... Hence the reason for submitting my thoughts to this terrific forum.

Just a thought while I am musing - you kind of need to make sure the speeds are similar, otherwise you might run into a lot of:
"Oh crap! It's the PC affiliated Lion Rider Gang!" The goblins yell, as they mount their cheetah mounts and escape into the briars... again...

That could also be part of the issue. The Orc gang has boar mounts and the dwarves meet them with arms. Next time, the orcs wise up and found that using wolves are faster, easier to tame and mount and are better in a battle, plus the boars taste so good... This could cause the dwarves to try to find either more suitable mounts, better battle strategies or some allies to help them in their cause.
